MEAN WELL has announced the introduction of new miniature DIN rail switching power supplies, MDR-100 series, for the fast growing demand of low wattage DIN rail applications. These Class I models (with F.G.) are enclosed with fully isolated plastic case to prevent users from hazardous shock. The design of universal AC input makes the worldwide installation more easily since users can get rid of bothersome input switch selection.

Featuring active PFC function and up to 88% of efficiency, MDR-100 can be cooled by only free air convection up to 60℃. Another important feature of MDR-100 is its low no load power consumption (<1W). This unique characteristic in the market can significantly expand the application beyond just heavy industrial field, but can also be applied to datacom or IT applications with energy saving concern and to obey the anticipated government laws in the near future!

Short circuit protection, overload protection, over voltage protection, over temperature protection and the DC OK relay contact plus LED indicator for monitoring the status of PSU are standard functions for MDR-100 series. Typical applications include factory automation, process control, electro-mechanical industry, datacom, IT, and …etc..
