Maxim introduced the MAX9672/MAX9673/MAX9674 10-bit gamma-correction reference systems with integrated MTP (multiple-time programmable) memory. They minimize solution cost, by eliminating multiple discrete components including a digital variable resistor, VCOM amplifier, gamma buffers, resistor strings, and a high-voltage linear regulator.
Maxim's MTP technology enables the integration of NV (nonvolatile) memory with high-performance amplifiers so gamma and VCOM registers are stored on the chip. Each system supports up to 100 rewrite operations of gamma and VCOM values, thus eliminating the need for external EEPROM. With 12 (MAX9672), 14 (MAX9673), or 16 (MAX9674) programmable gamma-correction outputs and one voltage reference for VCOM adjustment, these highly integrated systems are ideal for TFT-LCD applications.

The MAX9672/MAX9673/MAX9674 are available in a 5mm x 5mm, 28-pin TQFN-EP package with excellent heat dissipation. The devices are fully specified over the -40 degrees Celsius to +85 degrees Celsius extended temperature range. Prices start at $1.20 (1000-up, FOB USA). An evaluation kit is available to speed designs.
