Juki Corporation, a world-leading provider of automated assembly products and systems, will showcase its latest assembly systems in Booth #1559 at the upcoming IPC APEX EXPO, scheduled to take place April 12-14, 2011 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas.

Juki’s FX-3 high-speed chip shooter and KE-3020 flexible placement mounter will be on display, offering the latest technology in high-volume, high-mix production at the lowest cost of ownership. Offering an interchangeable electronic and mechanical feeder solution combined with a new 22 x 24 board size, the continuously evolving FX-3/KE-3020 is ideal for the production of PC Notebooks, Flat Screen TVs and a wide range of consumer electronics.

The FX-2 high-speed chip shooter is Juki’s answer to efficient, mid-volume production requirements. Featuring a linear dual head X drive system, the FX-2 continuously places parts on the board with a minimum of movement, which reduces vibration, improves accuracy and greatly reduces machine downtime.

Juki’s KE Series 1070/1080 and 2070/2080 machines are sixth generation modular placement systems designed for contract manufacturers and OEMs that value flexibility, quality, ease of use and reliability. Built on the same design, KE Series machines make operation and maintenance easy. With the flexibility to place 01005 to CSP and odd formed parts, these machines feature quick and easy change over that leads to extremely high-uptime, yielding the lowest cost of ownership.

Juki offers a linear fluxer as a peripheral module that can be used for flip chip placement or PoP applications on the Juki flexible placement machines. The linear fluxer is fully automatic and generates a constant liquid media film of flux or adhesive. It can be used to dip a part into the film or to stamp a tool into the film and then transfer the acquired media onto an object or substrate often referred to as “pin in paste” or “adhesive pin transfer”. The fluxer can be installed at the factory or can be easily retrofitted in the field.

Juki will highlight the JX-200LED with a new upward looking camera for QFP / QFN lead inspection and BGA ball inspection as well as 1200mm board capability with multi-indexing.
Targeted specifically for LED manufacturing, the JX-200LED features new algorithms created for the placement of side-view type LEDs, top-view LEDs, rectangular ferrite chip-type and PLCC-type LEDS, making it the ideal low-cost placement solution for LED chips in fast growing markets such as laptop computers, LCD backlights, and a variety of lighting equipment.

Also on display, the FSW520-EF is a traditional mini-wave soldering system that is capable of supporting board sizes up to 510mm x 510mm depending on nozzle configuration. The FSW520-EF is the only machine in its class to that offers three autonomous acting soldering nozzles, allowing the use of three different sizes and/or types of nozzles without changeover.

Juki’s IFS-X2 intelligent feeder platform uses a patented, contactless, RFID smart feeder technology that is upgradeable and maintenance free. The feeder intelligence is accessible in and out of the placement machine, on offline trolleys, as well as feeder storage carts. Intelligent feeders provide additional functionality to simplify offline feeder setup, verify component placement, and record traceability data. Juki’s IFS-X2 system sets the standard for ease of use and flexibility. Using RFID technology, IFS-X2 provides graphically aided offline setup, real-time monitoring and data collection during production, and critical traceability data.

IS Software module is a line optimization software package that used in conjunction with Juki trolleys leads to fast change over and high-uptime. The IS software module is instrumental in raising production preparation, scheduling, quality and monitoring to a new level by bringing together several related functions into one comprehensive software package. IS gives managers, supervisors, and engineers the tools they need to run the most efficient production possible, thus reducing cost and improving productivity.

All Juki placement machines come standard with a three-year parts and one-year labor warranty. They also include no charge for attendance at any regularly scheduled training course at Juki facilities, free machine software upgrades for life of machine, free 24-hour phone support and are supported by a world-class service organization.
