The market for battery powered electronic products is growing at a substantial rate which in turn has created a demand for lower power devices and battery life extension, as OEMs target green issues and customer convenience.
Aqueous Low ESR Super Capacitors are ideally suited to support Battery life extension but engineers are reluctant to consider due to four main reasons:

1 Shape and size - Most products are cylindrical and large where by definition portable products should be small and light.

2 Environmental - Most products are harmful and not completely RoHS Compliant

3 Cost - Engineers believe Super Capacitors to be expensive

4 Manufacturing - Super Capacitors must be hand soldered which is not appreciated by production teams whilst adding further cost and time to a manual soldering process.

Cellergy are now pleased to announce that they successfully developed their products to over come these four challenges. The biggest challenge of wave soldering super capacitors with aqueous and organic electrolyte, is the high ambient temperature in the wave soldering bath and preheating oven. This has yet has to be overcome by other manufacturers.

Cellergy is pleased to announce that they have made a major breakthrough with their Super Capacitor technology. The Cellergy super capacitors are capable of automatic wave soldering for either Pb free or SnPb. This announcement will enable improvements in manufacturing time and reduce costs. Soldering recommendations are available upon request

Cellergy innovative technology now enables engineers to utilise a commercially viable solution:

1 Size and form factor is down to 12mm sq and is low profile

2 Environmentally green

3 Low cost due to patented automated processes

4 Cellergy’s Through hole technology is now suitable for wave soldering

The Cellergy range of Aqueous super capacitors offers an extensive product portfolio covering a range of 7mF to 700mF and have an extensive range of 1.2 to 12volts. Cellergy products will successfully exceed over 500,000 discharge and recharge cycles and with an operating temperature down to -40c makes an ideal partner for Battery powered products
