knitter-switch, now offers a wide range of switch types with additional patient and equipment safety features for use in medical applications.
Static safe micro-miniature, sub-miniature and miniature toggle switches and push button switches from the FT and EST and FP, ESP and EPS families offer both sensitive electronic equipment and patient protection against electrostatic discharge (ESD), discharge from operators and high voltage spikes.

Offering up to 14kV resistance to ESD, these switches can prevent damage to sensitive circuitry from the environment and resist static build-up in operators.

Waterproof to IP67, up to 30 minutes with a 1m water column, the MTE range of miniature toggle switches, MTW “Mustang” ruggedised toggle switches and MPE miniature push button switches protect equipment deployed in damp conditions or which must be washed-down for safety or hygiene.

Versions of both toggle switches and push buttons are available for PCB or panel mounting and with solder tag or SMT connecting options. All switch types offer single and double throw, latching and non-latching operation and single and double pole contacts. Silver or gold contacts may be specified and mechanical life expectancy is greater than 100,000 operations

Typical applications include control panels, instrumentation, and hand held controllers for medical equipment and appliances.
