Vishay Intertechnology has announced the release of a new series of radial aluminum capacitors that offers very high capacitances, high ripple currents, and high-temperature operation up to +105 °C.
The devices are available in 15 case sizes, ranging from 5 mm by 11 mm to 18 mm by 40 mm. Their enhanced maximum temperature rating of 105 °C allows operation at higher temperatures or extends component life compared to standard 85 °C series. Additional features include a high rated ripple current to 3100 mA at +105 °C, and a capacitance range from 1 µF to 22,000 µF over a voltage range of 10 V to 450 V.

As a polarized aluminum electrolytic capacitor with a non-solid electrolyte and radial leads, the device’s specifications make it ideally suited for smoothing, filtering, buffering, and voltage decoupling applications in SMPS and dc-to-dc power supplies for industrial and telecom systems, domestic appliances, and portable and mobile electronics.

The 142 RHS capacitors offer a very long useful life of 2500 hours at +105 °C. The RoHS-compliant devices are charge- and discharge-proof, so there is no peak current limitation.

Samples and production quantities of the 142 RHS capacitors are available now, with lead times of 14 weeks for larger orders.
