Vishay released a new series of thin film, molded, dual-in-line resistor voltage dividers featuring a close ratio tolerance of ± 0.05 %, ratio stability characteristics (ΔR) of ± 0.015 % at 2,000 hours and + 70 ºC, and tight TCR tracking of ± 5 ppm/ºC. Offering higher precision than discrete SMT chips, devices in the ORNV series combine five resistors, including two voltage dividers and a reference resistor, in a 4 mm by 5 mm, eight-pin surface-mount network.
With a 1.27 mm pitch and 1.73 mm maximum seated height, the ORNV series is optimized for precision voltage divider and operational amplifier applications in industrial, telecommunications, process control, and medical instrumentation and equipment. The devices offer a rugged molded case construction with no internal solder (JEDEC MS-012 variation AA package).

The devices released today provide a resistance range from 2 kΩ to 50 kΩ with a wide ratio range. The ORNV dividers offer power ratings of 100 mW at + 70 °C per resistor, extremely low noise of < - 30 dB, low voltage coefficients of < 0.1 ppm/V, and a temperature range of – 55 °C to + 125 °C. Offering lead (Pb)-free or lead terminations, the devices are compliant with RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC.

Samples of the ORNV series are available now. Production quantities will be available in Q1 2011, with lead times of eight to 10 weeks for larger orders.
