Close-differential switches, suitable for applications with limited space, have been introduced by Littelfuse. The MACD-14 and MASM-14, which extend the company’s reed switch product line, are capable of switching 200VDC at up to 10W. Enabling accurate performance in all operating conditions, the devices feature a sensitivity range of 10-30AT.

For operation in harsh environments, the switches are hermetically sealed. The MACD-14 and MASM-14 are available in through-hole and surface-mount designs, providing circuit designers with layout and design flexibility. On request, the switches can be customised.

“The close-differential characteristics of the MACD-14 and MASM-14 series allow us to serve new market segments that require high-precision sensing at a competitive price,” said Gwenn Gmeinder, Business Development Manager, Littelfuse. “These switches are suitable for level and proximity sensing in water pump, brake fluid reservoir, windshield washer fluid level and small appliance applications.”

The MACD-14 and MASM-14 switches are available in three models and minimum order quantities of 250. The MASM-14 is also available with tape and reel packaging. On request, sample quantities are available.
