SCHURTER develops and manufactures state of the art switch and pushbutton technologies including microswitches, piezo elements, switches with mechanical actuation, metal pushbuttons and keypads as well as display elements. A key focus is Metal Line. With the certification in accordance to ATEX and IECEx, the first switch from the PSE family is now approved for use in potentially explosive atmospheres containing air and gases. This is available with a diametr of 19 and 22mm.

Certified according to ATEX/IECEX approvals, the PSE EX family is suitable for use in a potentially explosive atmosphere containing air gases and dust. The Device Directive, 94/9/EC for Products and Protective Systems, was developed to protect equipment and personnel endangered by the ignition of gases, vapours, or dust that could lead to an explosion. This protection is achieved by the prevention of all possible sources of fire and ignition. Certified for use in hazardous areas, the switches are available in 19 and 22mm diameters and labelled with the approval information and an identification number. The PSE EX standard versions are deliverable with 16, 19 and 22mm mounting diameters with pin connections. The housing is available in red, green or natural aluminium. Additional colours, mounting diameters and connections are obtainable upon request.
