knitter-switch introduces an encoder which saves space because of its very small foot print and height. It is designed for applications which need a high quality encoder where space is extremely restricted, e.g. measurement instrumentation or household applications.

The new MERS 5-12 is requiring a space of 6x9mm only on the PCB and with a casing height under 3mm it is extremely flat. The high quality encoder has to be operated from the top, has 12 pulses/detents per rotation and a mechanical life of 100 000 turns.

The MERS 5-12 is, as well as the complete wide range of standard DIL, tact, rotary encoder, toggle and push-button switches, available directly from knitter-switch and a number of distributors throughout Europe. Samples are available on request.
