AVX FFLI power film capacitor series specifically targets DC filtering. One major advantage of the technology is that unlike aluminium electrolytic devices where there is a strong risk of the case exploding at the end of the capacitor’s life, the FFLI devices will simply experience a reduction in capacitance of about 5%. The new products are available at distributor Rutronik now.

With an expected life of 100 000 hours, the devices of the FFLI series are qualified to IEC 61071 for power electronic capacitors. They also meet the environmental testing requirements of IEC 60068-1 and pass IEC 61373 shocks and vibration tests. The FFLI series feature a CV rating of up to 3000μF and 1900Vdc/100Arms, and can operate in temperatures of up to 95°C.

The new film metalized components are especially suitable for use in modular banks of capacitors for applications such as solar panel installations or wind turbine energy generators.
