Using metal resistive elements made from Nickel-Chromium or Cupron (Manganin-Copper) the new MCS Series of SMD flip chip resistors from Ohmite have a very low TCR of <50ppm/°C over the range of current sense values which are popular in portable, battery operated equipment and power supplies.

The 1 and 2W packages are available in 1% tolerance and 11 popular resistance values from 5 to 50 mΩ. The MCS has a long side electrode to satisfy the most demanding current-sense applications, exceptional temperature coefficient characteristics and resistance vs. temperature change from 25°C to 125°C within 10ppm/°C ~ 50ppm/°C.

The low inductance, low thermo EMF (<50µV/°C) characteristics of the MCS Series makes it ideal suited to applications in industrial electronics, power supplies, DC/DC converters, AC/DC converters, motor controllers, automotive electronics, battery chargers, PC, PDA and 3C products, telecoms, instrumentation and white goods
