Lorlin Electronics, continues to diversify into new design opportunities for rotary switches. The range of PT multi-deck, multi-pole rotary switches is now available with an O-ring seal and waterproof grease sealant between the shaft and brush providing a dust and splash proof seal between the switch and mounting panel.
The Lorlin PT rotary multi-wafer switch series is manufactured in the UK and offers up to 144 change-over contacts. Make-before-break (MBB) and Break-Before-Make (BBM) switch contacts are available with 30º indexing as standard with 36 º, 60 º or 90º indexing as special order options. Contacts may be specified with silver or gold flash plating and multi-deck connection is made simple via PCB terminals on a 2.54mm pitch. Standard spindle diameters are 6mm or 6.35mm with length moulded to order. The PT series may be further customised with the addition of an adjustable stop, brass fixing bush, spindles with special flats and non-standard wafer spacers. The Lorlin PT switch family has contacts rated at 500mA @ 250V ac/dc and an operating life expectancy of >10,000 Cycles over the temperature range -30ºC to +85 ºC.

Dan Walker, Sales Manager at Lorlin Electronics comments. ”Lorlin continues to produce a broad range of switching solutions and maintains the local engineering skills and UK based manufacturing facilities to provide standard and more importantly custom switch solutions for our customers worldwide. Our PT multi-wafer, multi-deck rotary switches are typical of the switch solutions available from Lorlin. An established and reliable switch solution which we can customise quickly to our customers special needs, providing fast prototyping and cost effective flexible manufacturing. We have a strong market for robust and reliable rotary switches for industrial and instrumentation requirements.”

Lorlin’s PT rotary switches may be used in applications requiring isolating and routing of signals on Garage forecourts, changing frequencies and sensitivities on metal detectors, multi-pole switching (72 change overs) for switching controls and routing data on military and surveillance equipment.
