Designed to meet the needs of indoor indication lighting and harsh environment applications, VCC has introduced low-profile button type lens assemblies. Featuring simple and fast assembly, reliability and ruggedness, the CMS 442 and HMS 462 series suit heavy-duty panel applications requiring advanced NEMA 4 and moisture-proof protection.

The LED lens assemblies are suited for applications including automotive, aerospace, industrial, instrumentation, medical, military, mining, outdoor, safety, transportation and white goods. They provide uniquely-designed spiral mating threads that offer a superior mounting system and can be paired with VCC Litepipes series light pipes and cable assemblies for board to panel applications.

The CMS 442 and HMS 462 series exceed all test criteria for NEMA 4, including: water seal depths down to 100m; shock up to 6Gs; vibration up to 6g from 0 to 2000Hz; temperature cycling from -40 to +105°C; UV resistance; dust sealing; and ice encasement.

Increasing the aesthetics of display panels, the low-profile design greatly enhances the light output of the LED by significantly reducing the ambient light effect upon the lens. Offering a viewing angle of 180°, the lens assemblies can be tightly mounted to the panel, with less than a full turn, using the included lock washer and retaining ring. Simplifying installation or removal for assembly or repair, the circuit board is completely independent of the display panel.

The CMS 442 is used for 5mm LED applications with a 0.312” (7.92mm) diameter mounting hole, while the HMS 462 provides a 10mm LED solution with a 0.562” (16.56mm) diameter mounting hole.
