Two series of micro-switches from knitter-switch, one of Europe’s leading switch manufacturers, have been enlarged to meet the increased demand from several key industrial and consumer sectors. The DM and TMV positive break series are suited for use in a wide variety of applications that require a very fast and reliable circuit opening or closing such as elevator controls, appliance settings and tooling machines. The positive break action of the TMV series is essential for applications requiring BSI safety approvals and a version of the DM switch is available waterproofed to IP51.
Manufactured to the highest standards, both series meet all relevant safety approvals including UL and VDE and offer a long mechanical life as well as the ability to withstand today’s environmentally-friendly automated assembly methods. Both families of micro-switches have single pole, double throw (SPDT) non-shorting contacts which may be specified as normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC). The silver-alloy contacts are rated at 250VAC at up to 10 A with the TMV versions offering a positive break (force driven) action. Standard features include dielectric strength of 1000VAC, 50 Hz for 1 minute, an operating temperature of –25°C to +65°C and a mechanical life of minimum 20,000,000 operations. The cases are moulded from UL94 V-0 PBT and connecting terminals are made from silver plated brass.

Designed as like-for-like replacements for the most commonly available micro-switches, the knitter-switch TMV/DM series switches can be supplied in most popular sizes and with button operation or a number of different lengths and shapes of actuators with a variety of operating forces.

Standard switches are available from a number of distributors throughout Europe. Samples are usually available on next day delivery. For more information visit www.knitter-switch.com
