C&K Components has developed a new series of microminiature IP64-sealed SMT detect switches. The low-profile JCH Series switches come in a 4.7 x 4.2mm form factor with body height of 2.2mm and an actuator height of 3.8mm.

It has a maximum operating force of 65 grams and an operational life span of 100,000 cycles, making it an ideal choice for leading edge designs requiring superior switch performance. The IP64 seal is dust tight and is protected from water splashed from all directions with limited ingress permitted.

Featuring a versatile design suited for a wide variety of applications, including portable electronics, health care systems, automotive integration, audio/visual devices, and detection/security peripherals, the low-profile, microminiature JCH Series is SMT process compatible.

The JCH Series switch is a top-quality microminature solution for a number of design concerns, delivering long-term reliable performance and a level of sealing that has never been offered in a SMT detect in this package size before, said Kyle Peterson, product manager for C&K Components. These rugged IP64-sealed switches are suited for a variety of applications, particularly mechanical detections that require either vertical or horizontal actuation and mobile devices that typically use a variety of packing materials to protect the switch from contaminants.

The RoHS compliant and halogen/lead free JCH Series switches are available with silver over nickel plate terminals and feature an operating temperature of -20°C to 70°C and a contact rating of 1 mA @ 5 VDC.
