Inductors' soft saturation characteristics suit VRM & VRD
Coilcraft has announced its MLC75xx series of shielded, high-current power inductors, offering Isat ratings up to 59.2A and DC resistance down to 1.2mΩ for greater efficiency. Their soft saturation characteristics mean that the devices are suitable for VRM/VRD designs and other applications with occasional overcurrent requirements.
The compact, surface mount MLC75xx Series measures just 7.0x7.5x4.2mm. Coilcraft offers the series in seven inductance values ranging from 0.10 to 2.17µH. MLC75xx Series inductors feature RoHS compliant tin-silver (96.5/3.5) over copper terminations and offer a maximum reflow temperature of 260°C. They are also constructed of materials that are not subject to thermal aging issues associated with other iron powder core inductors.
