With the SPEJ110100, ALPS ELECTRIC EUROPE GmbH offers a tiny momentary-type push switch with detent, which is ideally suited for mirror control for power window units and switching of various electric devices in a motor vehicle. The vertically activated SMD switch is remarkable for its small enclosure of 7.0mm x 7.0mm x 6.0mm (W x D x H) and a long travel of 1.7mm. Designed as a 2-pole 2-position switch, the SPEJ110100 is rated for switching currents of 0.2A at 14VDC. The necessary operating force accounts for a maximum of 3.5±0.7N. It has an operating life of 10,000 switching cycles.

In addition to the compact dimensions, another important element in automotive applications is the clear clicking sensation. The SPEJ110100 employs proprietary mechanisms to elicit tactile sensation when switching. ALPS has realized this feedback through the adoption of its simulation and micro fabrication technologies. Other specifications include a maximum initial contact resistance of 150mΩ, an insulation resistance higher than 100MΩ at 500VDC, and a voltage proof of up to 500VAC for one minute. Operating temperatures range from –40°C to +85°C.

The push switch is suitable for lead-free reflow soldering. It meets the RoHS (Restriction on Hazardous Substances) directives and is available in minimum packaging units of 2.000 pieces.
