Thin film chip resistors reduce thermal resistance
Offering power ratings of 2 and 6W in compact 1206 and 2512 case sizes, the PCAN series of high-power, surface-mount precision thin film chip resistors has been announced by Vishay Intertechnology. The aluminium nitride substrates of the resistors have enlarged backside terminations in order to reduce the thermal resistance between the topside resistor layer and the solder joint on the end user's circuit assembly.

Multi-throw switches feature operating temperatures to 105°C
The PE42442 and PE42452, high-isolation, multi-throw switches succeeding the PE42451, have been introduced by Peregrine Semiconductor. These switches feature enhanced operating temperatures up to 105°C maximum, logic control of 1.8V, power supply of 2.3-5.5V, insertion loss, isolation and ESD protection of 4kV HBM.

Devices feature superior dimensional acuracy for wearables
Based on innovative proprietary packaging and manufacturing technologies, ROHM have introduced a family of devices which they claim are the smallest electronic components in the industry. The RASMID (ROHM Advanced Smart Micro Device) families include ultra-compact chip resistors in 03015 (0.3 × 0.15mm) size as well as Schottky barrier diodes in 0402 (0.4 × 0.2mm) size.

A line of multilayer RF ceramic inductors with low DC resistance, high Q values, self-resonant frequency, and reliability, has been introduced by Pulse Electronics. The line includes the 0201CC series whch are 1.0-100nH, with a low DCR and high Q, the 0402CC series which are 1.0-270nH, with a low DCR and high Q and the 0402CH series which are 1.0-15nH, with a very high Q.

Surface mount tactile switches offer small footprint
Offered with a range of actuation forces and extended operating lifecycles, a series of surface mount top-actuated tactile switches has been announced by C&K Components. Housed in a 6.3x6.3x5.0mm package, the KSH series SPST (single-pole, single-throw) top-actuated switches have a "soft touch" tactile feel (according to the manufacturer).

Intel TP82C54 programmable timer re-introduced by Rochester
Rochester Electronics re-introduces the Intel 82C54 high-performance, CHMOS version of the industry standard 8254 counter/timer. Designed to solve the timing control problems common in microcomputer system design, this device provides three independent 16-bit counters, each capable of handling clock inputs up to 10MHz. All modes are software programmable.
