ACAL Technology is offering high speed SRAM using a unique manufacturing process which will enable OEMs and CEMs to cut current lead-times of 18 to 35 weeks, from other vendors, to just 8 to 14 weeks for the second-source GSI alternatives.
GSIs unique ExactPreference™ manufacturing process, enables ACAL Technology to achieve short lead-times on the complete range of GSI high-speed SRAM, which features the industry’s widest range of speeds, up to 350MHz as well as the lowest static and dynamic power consumption. Almost all available options of SRAM dice are held in bulk inventory and then finished on the ExactPreference™ manufacturing line with the final packaging, bonding and testing options.

ACAL Technology’s Senior Product Manager, Mike Farquharson comments; “ACAL’s engineering teams can cross-reference and sample second-source SRAMs which are fit, form and function replacements for virtually any existing high-speed SRAM, allowing OEMs to reduce the current industry lead-times by a minimum of 10 weeks. As the only company to focus their entire manufacturing output on high-speed SRAM, GSI has a unique perspective and long-term commitment to SRAM. Their products typically have higher rated specifications than competitive products so many of the second-source alternatives that ACAL will sample can provide an additional edge on system performance whilst remaining competitively priced.”

GSI SRAMs are also covered by a 7-year product lifetime support guarantee, which allows designers to future-proof their designs be removing the uncertainty that a broad-line manufacturer may withdraw from the memory market.

Applications which could second-source to GSI SRAM include networking, switches, routers and base-stations as well as VoIP, DSP, DSL line cards and modems. OEMs in the industrial, medical and military sectors could also cut lead times and increase system speeds by second-sourcing GSI SRAMs.
