Providing an optional ±5ppm frequency tolerance for high accuracy applications, a range of miniature surface mount real-time clock crystals has been unveiled by Euroquartz. The X3215 series offers high shock and vibration resistance, making these rugged devices suitable for use in all real-time clock applications and battery powered hand-held equipment.

Designed to provide the smallest possible component size for real-time clock applications, the devices are housed in 3.2x1.5x0.8mm miniature surface mount packages. Frequency is 32.768kHz with frequency tolerance of ±20ppm as standard with ±10ppm and ±5ppm options (all at 25°C).

The crystals operate over a temperature range from -40 to +85°C and provide typical equivalent series resistance of 50kΩ (70kΩ maximum), typical drive level 0.1µW (0.5µW maximum) and low ageing of ±3ppm/year maximum.

The X-cut crystals are RoHS compliance, lead-free and supplied on 8mm EIA tape and reel with 3000 pieces per reel.
