Precision Devices Inc has announced the launch of two new clock oscillators. The OC7A is Precision Devices first clock oscillator to operate with a frequency above 1GHz. The OC7A oscillator supports an operating frequency range of 10.9MHz to 1.17GHz. The new OC5A supports an operating frequency range of 25MHz to 350MHz.
The new OC5A and OC7A clock oscillators support a wide range of applications requiring high frequency tolerance, low jitter – RMS 0.6ps and low DC power consumption of less than 95mA. These devices are ideal for high frequency networking and communications systems such as Ethernet, Fibre Channel, WiMAX and wireless applications.

To ensure a true square wave output at high operating frequencies both clock oscillators feature a LV-PECL output stage. An LVDS version of both oscillators is also available which supports an operating frequency up to 270MHz for the OC5A and 800MHz for the OC7A. Both clock oscillators have a standard operating temperature range of 0°C to 70°C with a wide operating temperature of -40°C to +85°C available as an option.

Both devices are available in a compact 6 pad ceramic surface mount package. The OC7A has dimensions of 7.0mm (l) x 5.0mm (w) x 1.87mm (d) and the OC5A has dimensions of 5.0mm (l) x 3.2mm (w) x 1.4mm (d)
