E-paper display modules create batteryless RFID-enabled tags
Pervasive Displays has announced that its low power E-Paper Display (EPD) modules have been used by Japan-based TOPPAN Printing to create a batteryless EPD tag with integrated RFID functionality, for logistics and inventory management. Designed to replace both paper labels and RFID tags, the batteryless RFID-enabled EPD tag from TOPPAN Printing combines a Pervasive Displays EPD module and programmable RFID tag.
Keeping on track with RFID
Mary Butler, Product Manager at HellermannTyton, discusses RFID technology and why it is the smart choice for electricians. Radio-Frequency Identification or RFID systems are widely used across a range of industries and have been in use for a number of decades. Used in all kinds of applications, from microchips for pets to goal-line technology, global RFID sales are consistently on the up, with a projected global market value of $17.6bn by 2...
Analogue phase shifters use TTL logic interface for precise control
A supplier of on-demand microwave and RF components, Fairview Microwave, has introduced a series of 8-bit programmable phase shifters that are adjustable over a full 360° range. These three new models can produce a discrete set of phase states of up to 256 total steps in 1.4° increments with superior accuracy and minimal phase shift error.
Chipset delivers transition from 100 to 400G in data centres
MACOM has announced the production ready MAOP-L284CN, MACOM’s 100G CWDM4 transmitter L-PIC (Lasers integrated with a Silicon Photonic Integrated Circuit) and supporting driver and controller IC chipset.
Higher performance at lower cost with latest booster
Vincotech has announced the launch of a new line of modules called flowBOOST 1 symmetric. Engineered to deliver top switching frequencies (up to 50 kHz), these modules are able to provide a symmetric boost in 1300 V or a buck boost in 650 V applications. They also enable to use smaller and even lighter passive power components to decrease system sizes.
20W RF amplifier for electronic warfare markets
International Radio Frequency (RF) and Microwave solutions provider, NuWaves Engineering, has announced the development of their latest miniaturised C-band bidirectional amplifier (BDA) to their line of NuPower Xtender bidirectional amplifier products. The NuPower Xtender 06D05A BDA module, part number NW-BA-06D05A, follows the recent releases of both the C-Band Low Noise Amplifier (HILNATM CX) and the C-Band Power Amplifier (NuPowerTM 06D05A).
External RF filters let you analyse signals on the go
In December 2016 Narda Safety Test Solutions released efficient external RF filters for its IDA 2 handheld signal analyser. These optional RF filters help users to in particular avoid out of band overmodulation without reducing the necessary measurement sensitivity when making measurements with the IDA 2 in highly dynamic measurement environments. These overmodulation effects can occur when very weak RF signals need to be measured in the presence...
NFC/RFID Tag ICs offer fast transfer mode
The advanced ST25DV dynamic-tag ICs are the latest addition to the ST25 NFC/RFID product family that come with a rich featured contactless RF interface and I2C bus. The dual-interface enables untethered interaction between an NFC-capable smartphone or an RFID reader and the host microcontroller located inside near-by equipment, such as smart meters, IoT devices, professional, or consumer products.
Narrowband radio modules optimised for noisy environments
Assisting innovation in wireless communication system design and installation, Solid State Supplies now offers its customers the RC17xxHP series from Radiocrafts. These compact radio modules are capable of delivering RF output levels beyond those of the competition. Supporting 27dBm transmission power and 118dBm receiver sensitivity, they have a line-of-sight range reaching up to 20km. Using them reliable, fully encrypted radio links can be estab...
Advanced crystal geometry puts oscillator in tiny package
An oscillator in the advanced tiny package of just 1.2 x 2.0 x 0.7 mm has been announced by Micro Crystal, a leading provider of quartz crystals, oscillators, OCXOs and Real-Time Clocks for the world's leading electronics industry now offers the popular. This hermetically sealed package hosts the integrated circuit together with the XTAL. It withstands harsh environmental condition.
