Microsemi and Sibridge Technologies have announced the release of a suite of high-speed IP cores targeting Microsemi’s SmartFusion2 SoC FPGAs and IGLOO2 FPGAs. This extends Microsemi’s prior engagement with Sibridge Technologies by adding Sibridge as an approved CompanionCore provider. The CompanionCore programme offers a wide selection of synthesisable IP cores that are licensed, supported and maintained directly by Microsemi partners.

Microsemi has previously collaborated with the company by utilising its triple-speed Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC), USB2.0 OTG controller, and PCIe IP and verification IP suites for its SmartFusion2 and IGLOO2 FPGA families. Sibridge Technologies is now working to add support for a USB3.0 host and device controller, a 10Gb Ethernet MAC, SATA Gen 1/2 host and device controllers, a CAN2.0 network controller, and a eMMC host controller for Microsemi FPGAs as part of Microsemi’s CompanionCore programme.

“Partnering with Sibridge Technologies provides us access to a comprehensive portfolio of design IPs, verification IPs and custom solutions,” said Shakeel Peera, Senior Director, FPGA/SoC Marketing, Microsemi. “Sibridge Technologies enables our customers to develop high-speed interface designs by providing and integrating IP cores in designs and verifying multiple instances in a timely and cost-effective manner.”

“Microsemi has been our strategic customer for multiple years now. Our teams have optimised multiple cores for Microsemi devices, streamlining the design process, shortening time-to-market, and reducing design costs and risks,” said Rajesh Shah, CEO, Sibridge Technologies.
