Global ICT solutions provider, Xilinx, announced at HUAWEI CONNECT 2017 that Huawei has chosen high performance Virtex UltraScale+ FPGAs to power their first FP1 instance as part of a new accelerated cloud service. The Huawei FPGA Accelerated Cloud Server (FACS) is a platform that enables users to develop, deploy and publish new FPGA-based services and applications on Huawei Public Cloud.

FPGAs now interoperate with wideband RF transceiver
Microsemi Corporation has announced its cost-optimised, low power, mid-range PolarFire field programmable gate array (FPGA) is now interoperable with Analog Devices’ AD9371 wideband integrated radio frequency (RF) transceiver via a JESD204B interface. The AD9371 offers dual channel transmitters and receivers, integrated synthesisers and digital signal processing functions, which allows customers to utilise Microsemi’s PolarFire FPGAs to interface and interoperate with JESD204B, while utilising lower power implementation than competing devices.

Its PolarFire Evaluation Kit, already shipping to key customers, is also available for ordering from the company and its distribution channels.

Microsemi Corporation has announced new additions to its imaging/video solution supporting the popular Mobile Industry Processor Interface (MIPI) camera serial interface (CSI-2). The enhancements, including a new field programmable gate array (FPGA) mezzanine card (FMC)-based daughter card and new intellectual property (IP) which support image sensors with MIPI CSI-2 interfaces, enable customers to use the company’s power-efficient, highly secure IGLOO2 FPGA and SmartFusion2 system-on-chip (SoC) FPGA capabilities in CSI-2-based camera systems.
