A safe and long-term stable detection and measurement of highly corrosive gases such as CO, H2S, NO, NO2, Cl2, Sl2 or NH3 are now possible through the recently designed FECS (Figaro Electrochemical-type Sensors) series by FIGARO. The seven members of this series presented for the first time at the SENSOR+TEST 2016 (hall 1, booth 559), excel not only because of their short response times but also due to their high selectivity and measuring accuracy, which lies – depending on sensor and sort of the gas to be detected – between 2 and 10 %. Due to their electrochemical design, cross-sensitivities hardly ever occur and the output characteristic is linear.

Among the outstanding characteristics of the FECS-series, with operating temperatures ranging from -30 up to 50°C, are the extremely low energy requirements. The sensor element is completely independent from an external power supply, since it produces energy through an electrochemical process.

Due to their low consumption values and compact size, the gas sensors of the FECS series are a suitable solution for the operation in most of the different battery-operated handheld-gas analysers as well as conventional gas detectors and industrial alarm devices.
