FlexEnable will showcase its flexible electronics technology platform for mobiles and wearables for the first time at next week’s Mobile World Congress. The world’s first plastic in-plane switching LCD, which FlexEnable recently developed together with Merck, will be on show for the first time. Plastic LCDs have the potential of making products ten times thinner, more than ten times lighter and cheaper than those using conventional glass-based displays.

In addition FlexEnable will demonstrate an innovative application for the use of flexible electronics in wearables. Visitors will be given an insight into the vast potential of the company’s flexible electronics technology platform beyond displays, enabling ubiquitous sensing, which is a fundamental prerequisite for the IoT.

Indro Mukerjee, Chairman, FlexEnable, commented: “We invite all companies interested in introducing a step-change into the design and functionality of their products and applications to meet with the FlexEnable team in Barcelona. Our partnership offerings unlock a new world of product design possibilities, in particular for wearables and mobile and we are excited to publicly showcase our capabilities for the first time now at Mobile World Congress.”
