A monitor, claimed to be suitable for both professionals and cinema/gaming enthusiasts, has been introduced by AOC. The u3477Pqu is a 34" WQHD monitor, with 1.07bn colours and a resolution of 4.95m pixels, displayed on an UltraWide panoramic 21:9 screen. The monitor features interplay between hardware and software, a USB 3.0 port, DisplayPort and HDMI port with MHL functionality.

Making the u3477Pqu suitable for professional use is its display area. At 79.9x33.5cm, this is more than a quarter of a square meter, enabling users to view almost four A4 pages at the same time. Similarly, the monitor features AOC's Screen+ software, which divides the display into up to four panes. Due to its size and resolution, the u3477Pqu is also useful for presenting content to a group of people. Being the same height as a 27" monitor and featuring height adjustability of 130mm, as well as pivot, swivel and tilt, the monitor is comfortable to use.

With a refresh rate of 60Hz and a pixel response time of 5ms, along with an improvement on the Mura uniformity issue, the u3477Pqu is suitable for gaming use. The monitor also has a set of integrated 3W speakers, a high-grade IPS panel for extra wide viewing angles and a luminosity of 320 cd/m², making it suitable for cinematic use.

As well as this, the u3477Pqu is green. Alongside sustainability certificates such as EnergyStar 6.0 and TCO 6.0, the monitor also comes with Eco Mode and e-Saver software.

The u3477Pqu, which has a three year warranty, will be available to buy in September 2014 for £499.
