The latest SMD-LEDs from Kingbright are designed to meet the demand for LEDs in small packages with ultra-low profiles. Kingbright’s KPG-1005, KPG-1608 and KPGA-1602 SMD-LED series are compact in size yet offer the luminosity of larger devices and suit many applications, including backlighting and indicator functions in keypads, keyboards, LCD screens, mobile phones and toys.

The LEDs are now on sale at distributor TTI.

The KPG-1005 series is a green source colour device made with AlGaInP on GaAs substrate Light Emitting Diode. It measures 1.0mm x 0.5mm and is only 0.2mm thick and features low power consumption and a wide viewing angle. Qualified to moisture sensitivity level 3 and RoHS compliant, the series is compatible with automatic placement equipment and supplied in tape and reel packaging.

KPG-1608 Series blue source colour devices are made with InGaN on SiC Light Emitting Diode. Measuring 1.6mm x 0.8mm x 0.25mm thick, these SMD-LEDs also feature intense luminosity and a wide viewing angle. They are suitable for operating temperatures between –40degC to +85degC and are also qualified to moisture sensitivity level 3, as well as being RoHS compliant. The series is compatible with automatic placement equipment and supplied on tape and reel.

For applications that require a Hyper Red source colour, Kingbright’s KPGA-1602 Series is a right-angle SMT-LED measuring only 1.66mm x 0.9mm x 0.2mm thick. The Hyper Red source colour series is made with AlGaInP on GaAs substrate Light Emitting Diode. Again supplied on tape and reel for automatic placement, tinned pads provide improved solderability during the manufacturing process.
