andersDX has taken its embedded display platforms into the world of Intel with the launch of a updated version based on the Intel Celeron N2930 quadcore processor and running Windows Embedded 7. The company offers developers a plug-and-play evaluation kit to rapidly proof out new product concepts and build prototypes. The same hardware can be customised to form the basis of the production system.

First released with a 7” PCAP display, andersDX is planning to follow up with 10.1” a version of the DX86. andersDX embedded displays are off-the-shelf, ready to use platforms, including a display and touch screen assembly, pre-integrated with multi-functional embedded HW and a graphic SW environment.

Commenting, Rhett Evans, Embedded Sales Manager, Anders Electronics, said: “Customers asked us to extend our concept into the Intel environment, complementing our current ARM based products and here is our response. Featuring the Intel Bay Trail quad core N2930 CPU processor clocking at 1.86GHz with just 7.5W thermal design power, the DX86 delivers exceptional performance for a fanless x86 motherboard. The DX86 is ready to use, allowing customers to get proof of concept prototypes up and running in a few days using off-the-shelf Windows applications and drivers.”

“When the time comes to move from proof of concept to the development of a production unit, the DX86 platform provides enormous flexibility of screen choice, interfaces, specification and software. The generic DX86 platform used for the proof of concept can rapidly evolve into a customisable solution optimised for your end product,” added Evans.
