With all the functionality of a mouse, the new Interlink VersaPad from Steadlands has the major benefit of providing continuous movement over its entire area totalling 118 miles without failure or, put another way, 32 years of use.
VersaPad works reliably in an environment which contains both moisture and dust . It also operates in extreme temperatures and has the capability of measuring contact pressure.

Ideally suited to use in rugged laptops, industrial and remote computers, this resistive touchpad can be used with finger, stylus or glove. Its low power consumption prolongs battery life and simplifies electronic designs and, because it is unaffected by EMI and ESD, it eliminates erratic movements and false clicks. Because it is powered by the USB bus, VersaPad can be put in sleep mode for power savings.
The VersaPad enumerates as an HID mouse with Left and Right-Click capabilities using the native Operating System’s mouse drivers.

Available in USB, as well as PS/2, the OEM version is supplied with standard Flat Flexible Cable connectors for quick and easy integration. The dimensions of the VersaPad are 25mm x 25mm in its smallest size going up to a maximum of 300mm x 300mm. Specific sizes can be produced for minimum quantities. A hardware development kit is available.
