A member of AOC's new PDS monitor series, the AOC PDS271, has received the 2017 COMPUTEX d&i award. The recently announced 24" PDS241 and 27" PDS271 have been conceived through the collaboration with the famous design house Studio F. A. Porsche. Unlike other monitors, both the 24″ PDS241 and the 27″ PDS271 do not have any power or display connectors on their back side. A three sided frameless panel adds to the minimalistic look. The modern, asymmetrical design of its metal stand is functional, offering a one-cable solution.

The power and display cables run right through it and end up in an external modular box. This way, there are no connectors on the display’s back, and consequently no cables are dangling down from there either. Instead, an HDMI input (DisplayPort signal supported via adapter) and the power input of the external box provide the monitor with everything it needs.

The PDS series monitors come equipped with the latest AH-IPS panels from AOC, providing sharp and detailed images with a resolution of 1920x1080 pixels. Thanks to AOC’s SuperColor WCG technology, these displays cover 100% of the sRGB and 90% of the NTSC colour space. Coupled with the wide viewing angles of 178°, multiple users looking at the monitor from different angles can all enjoy the vibrant colours at the same time. Additional features such as the Flicker-Free technology and the Low Blue Light mode reduce eye discomfort and fatigue during continuous use.

Approaching its 10th anniversary, the COMPUTEX d&i awards are organised by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and iF DESIGN ASIA in Taiwan’s capital, Taipei. The award winners were chosen on 6th and 7th April by six international experts and evaluated on five criteria: innovation and elaboration, functionality, aesthetics, responsibility and positioning. The jury selected 77 entries from eight countries for this award.

The official award ceremony to honour the award winners took place on 29th and 30th May, and the display is featured on the official COMPUTEX website and in the iF World Design Guide. Award-winning products were displayed at the COMPUTEX trade show from 30th May to 3rd June.
