Ambedded Technology have announced the release of a new high-end open frame Human Machine Interface powered by Freescale i.MX6 application processor. The Jupiter CA9 series HMI provides a scalable multicore platform that includes single-, dual- and quad-core families based on the ARM Cortex-A9 for next-generation applications.

Combining the power-efficient processing capabilities of the ARM Cortex-A9 architecture with bleeding edge 3D and 2D graphics, as well as high-definition video, the Jupiter CA9 series provides a new level of multimedia performance to enable an unbounded next-generation user experience. Centric to the Jupiter CA9 series are next-generation graphics and high-definition video.

Supporting up to 1080p video playback, the Jupiter CA9 21” HMI enables exceptionally high-quality video with low power consumption for devices playing high-definition content. Capable of providing up to 200 Mt/s, the 3D graphics engine in the Jupiter CA9 Quad and Dual core versions offer ultra-vivid, realistic graphics critical for applications which combine the power of the main cores with the 2D/3D engines to perform computational task.

The Jupiter CA9 series enables a new generation of smart devices, digital displays, industrial instrumentation panels and auto and aero infotainment with compelling features such as augmented reality applications, content creation capabilities and multichannel HD video processing for a new level of user experience.

The Jupiter CA9 series is offered with 4 different high brightness LCDs, 7”, 10.1”, 15” and 21.5”, together with touch panel assembled on metal open frame chassis. In order to meet most application requirements, Jupiter CA9 has very rich I/O interfaces, including USB, Giga bps Ethernet, audio, RS232/485, GPIO, I2C, SATA, micro SD, CAN bus, Wi-Fi module, bluetooth module and video capture module. Pre-installed Android or Linux, the Jupiter CA9 series offers free board supporting package for Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and Ubuntu Linux.

Target applications for the Jupiter CA9 include medical, in vehicle, gaming, industrial control and instrument which require low power, high performance graphics and high reliability.
