Available for 36, 90 and 120 segments, Electronic Assembly offers customised ePaper displays for industry applications in medical engineering, aviation, automotive electronics and the Internet of Things. The design of the black/white segments is based on the customer’s own specifications (simple sketches, technical drawings or something in between).

Functioning without power, the segments remain permanently visible even without an operating voltage. Energy from a 3.3V power supply is only required to change over the segments, making the displays suitable for battery operation, wireless loading and energy harvesting.

Supplied up to a maximum size of 300x300mm, these high-contrast displays are extremely easy to read even in sunlight or without additional lighting. Also available in flexible form, the ePaper displays are supplied with I2C electric interface controller included.

Based on Joseph Jacobson’s technology which has been in use since 1990, the ePaper utlises particles suspended in a transparent viscous polymer. These are then embedded in microcapsules (which are aligned by briefly applying an electrical field that can then be turned off) of different sizes. Since the polymer is particularly viscous, ePapers are able to store their content for many years without further power consumption.

With a cable connection also designed to customer specifications, Electronic Assembly supplies the customised ePaper displays within 60 days in minimum order quantities of approximately 1,000 units.
