Introduced with support for the Renesas RZ/A1-based RSK board, Express Logic has expanded its support for the X-Ware Platform to include boards from Atmel, STMicroelectronics and Texas Instruments. The target-specific, integrated run-time software combines all X-Ware components (ThreadX, NetX, USBX, FileX, GUIX and TraceX) pre-ported and fully integrated for use on specific development boards.

Now supporting the SAMA5D3x-EK from Atmel, STM324xG-EVAL from ST and TI's AM335x starter kit, the X-Ware Platform helps developers avoid the development and integration challenges associated with the use of generic software products on a specific board.

Using the Board-Support Package (BSP) and peripheral drivers supplied by each board manufacturer as a starting point, the platform adds seamless integration of those drivers with Express Logic’s X-Ware products, enabling each one to operate fully on that board. It also resolves any conflicts associated with the use of multiple X-Ware products simultaneously, saving time and speeding time-to-market.

Jacko Wilbrink, Senior Director, MPUs, Atmel, commented: “Express Logic’s X-Ware Platform provides all the necessary software tools for designers using our SAMA5 family, including RTOS, network connectivity, graphic displays, a file system, and connectivity solutions. We are committed to providing the right tools for our customers so they are able to bring their innovative IoT products quickly to market.”

Express Logic plans to continue to expand support for X-Ware Platform to the most commonly used development boards and kits, in partnership with the leading suppliers of MPU-based systems for the IoT.
