Emulator & virtual keyboard improve productivity
An emulator, designed for rugged computers, has been released by JLT Mobile Computers. Freefloat Access, developed by Freefloat, connects the JLT rugged computer to IBM mainframes (3270), AS/400 (5250), UNIX (VT 100/220), Linux (ANSI) and SAP systems (ANSI).
The emulator is designed to deliver an optimised solution for integrating bar codes, 2D codes or RFID in an existing legacy host system, a WMS system such as Manhattan or an ERP system such as SAP. The emulator can be easily customised to users’ needs without adapting the hardware.
JLT has also introduced the Freefloat Key, a virtual keyboard that is used with the computer touch screen. The keyboard allows users to easily customise the UI, language, typeface and font size.
The emulation terminal and virtual keyboard are available now from JLT and will be demonstrated at SITL, which takes place from 31st March to 2nd April 2015 in Paris. The company will be located at booth J108.
