DFI today announces a new compact design system, DS912-OT, offering low power consumption for digital signage applications. This embedded system is powered by the dual-core AMD T56N/T40N APU and AMD A50M Controller Hub. The low-profile heavy duty steel chassis accepts VESA, wall, or rack mounting using optional mounting kits.
A single 12VDC power input reduces power supply cost and complexity for both stationary AC powered applications and mobile battery powered applications.

The AMD Radeon HD 6320/6290 graphics engine integrated into the APU delivers high quality graphics with the enhanced DirectX 11 to fulfill a variety of applications using HDMI and DVI graphics interfaces with up to 1920 x 1080 display resolutions. The DS912-OT supports 1 hardware decoder (H.264, VC-1, MPEG-4) with full HD 1080p video playback capability on dual independent display.

The DS912-OT embedded system supports up to 16GB DDR3 memory, 2-channel HD audio, one 2.5” SATA drive bay, one SD/MMC card slot, two COM ports, 4 USB 2.0 ports, one Gigabit LAN port that delivers high speed networking and 8 digital I/O ports for device controls. This compact system offers expansion capability using one PCIe x16 (x4 signal) expansion slot for low profile PCIe graphics card, and two Mini PCIe expansion slots for wireless adapters. One of the mini PCIe slots will support an mSATA module.

The low-power 12VDC embedded system is ideal for applications requiring a stable revision-controlled platform, such as digital signage, gaming, industrial control automation, POS and Kiosk, and medical equipment applications.
