Digia has introduced Qt version 5.2 with additional support for Android and iOS mobile operating systems and enhanced core performance and functionality. The company believe that Qt 5.2 is "positioned as the only cross-platform development framework for UI and non-UI creation to enable intuitive and highly performing platform-independent software applications no matter the target device or screen size".

New features in version 5.2 include the introduction of Qt Cloud Services, which facilitates the whole lifecycle of connected and data-driven Qt applications. Its first offering is Enginio data storage and user management. Qt 5.2 also includes an updated JavaScript engine and Scene Graph renderer. These improve the functionality and performance of Qt Quick QML, a declarative UI development language for creating intuitive, highly-intensified graphics on desktop, embedded and mobile operating systems. It also features Qt Creator 3.0, the Qt integrated development environment, and positioning, Bluetooth and NFC modules.

Qt 5.2 supports 15 leading operating systems, including Windows, Mac OS X, Linux, embedded Linux, embedded Android, Windows Embedded, VxWorks, QNX Neutrino and INTEGRITY, Android, iOS, BlackBerry, and SailFish. Enhancing desktop support, version 5.2 includes Qt Windows Extras and Qt Mac Extras, which allow integration with platform specific functionality on Windows and Mac OS X respectively.

Qt 5.2 is offered in two versions: Enterprise and Mobile. QT 5.2 Enterprise simplifies the process of mobilizing applications throughout the organisation, streamlining development and reducing maintenance effort. This commerical version also includes additional features such as Charts, Advanced Visualization and Enterprise Tooling. Qt 5.2 Mobile edition is an all-in-one high-calibre mobile app development package for native Android & iOS creation.
