RS Components (RS) has upgraded its DesignSpark community website aimed at engineers involved in developing electronics, mechanical and automation designs. The new version of the site features a fresh look and feel, as well as offering significant improvements to its functionality.

Based on feedback from users , RS has improved the site’s functionality and now offers easier navigation, enabling users to find content more easily, as well as providing quicker purchasing options via their local RS website.

The new site also provides an easier process for engineers to upload content. For example, users can now create and view drafts of their work before publishing it online.

The site’s news feature also allows manufacturers to post content on their latest products much more easily, meaning they can gauge interest in new developments at the earliest stage.

In addition, complementing its expansive electronics design content, the site will also feature a wide range of technical articles related to the world of automation.

“The raison d’être for the DesignSpark programme is supporting innovation for every engineer,” said Glenn Jarrett, Vice President of DesignSpark at RS Components. “Delivering a rich resource of news, information and free-for-download design tools for electronics, mechanical and electrical design, the new updated DesignSpark website offers new features, an improved look and feel, and a higher level of usability that our valued DesignSpark community richly deserves. Existing members should enjoy the new experience and find the site even easier, quicker and more engaging to use, and we look forward to seeing the membership of this inspiring community grow even more.”
