Advanced system-level capabilities in next-gen VC Verification IP
Synopsys announces the availability of advanced system-level capabilities in its next-gen VC Verification IP (VIP) for the ARM AMBA 4 ACE and AMBA 5 CHI protocols, as well as availability of verification IP for the recently announced AMBA 5 AHB5 protocol. The AMBA 4 ACE specifications are used for full coherency between processors and AMBA 5 CHI is an architecture for system scalability in enterprise SoCs.
Collaboration provides Synopsys with access to ARM Fast Models
Synopsys has announced the extension of a multi-year licensing agreement with ARM to provide the latest ARM Fast Models for ARM Cortex processors, including the recently announced ARM Cortex-A35 core, as part of Synopsys Virtualiser Development Kits. Synopsys VDKs are software development kits using virtual prototypes as the embedded target.
Unifying a fragmented market
The TrueSTUDIO Lite from Atollic is a free IDE without code size or device usage limitations, giving the ARM development community a free of charge tool that allows everyone to standardise. The tool is free to download, use and share. No registration is required.
Breakout boards support serial & parallel interfaces
FTDI Chip has added to the support it can offer to engineers using its highly regarded X-Chip series by introducing an array of breakout boards. Through these compact, low-profile items, the bridging of USB 2.0 (full speed) signals to serial or parallel interfaces is facilitated.
A complete blueprint for ultra-compact NFC designs
ams' proven boostedNFC technology, which enables reliable NFC coupling in space-constrained devices, has been implemented in a complete system development board compatible with the popular STM32 family MCUs from STMicroelectronics.
Prototyping platform upgraded with 50 new modules
The latest range of E-Blocks electronic modules and supporting Flowcode 6 development environment from Matrix Technology Solutions is available from RS Components. RS is stocking all 50 E-Blocks modules in the range, which users can snap together to build custom electronic systems quickly and easily.
End-to-end debug environment targets heterogeneous CPU systems
Imagination Technologies announces a new end-to-end debug environment that simplifies integration and debugging of MIPS heterogeneous CPU based systems or systems that combine MIPS CPUs with other CPU architectures. Providing a flexible on-chip CPU debug architecture, MIPS On-Chip Instrumentation (MIPS OCI) hardware is the centerpiece of the environment.
Infineon supports Gear S2 smartwatch for secured NFC payment
Infineon Technologies provides the embedded Secure Element (eSE) chip for all Samsung Gear S2 models. The chip safeguards users’ sensitive data and supports secured contactless payment transactions based on NFC technology. The Gear S2 comes with a unique rotating bezel and works with a variety of phones running Android 4.4 or later. The 3G version adds stand-alone functions and built-in GPS using its own 3G cellular connection.
