ZMD AG (ZMDI) will sponsor and exhibit at the Applied Power Electronics Conference & Exposition, to be held February 5 – 9, 2012 in Orlando, Florida. ZMDI will display two product lines designed to address specific application needs ranging from mobile devices to high-end systems, such as servers and storage units.
ZMD AG has announced a new family of 1, 2, and 3A current-mode synchronous buck DC/DC converter integrated circuits (ICs) tailored for ease of design, quick product development, and low bill of materials (BOM) costs. The 1MHz ZMDI ZSPM401x product line comprises three families and 18 products: the ZSPM4011 1A family, the ZSPM4012 2A family, and the ZSPM4013 3A family.
ZMD AG today introduced a class-leading 16-bit sensor signal conditioning IC (SSC) for calibrated resistive sensor modules. The ZSSC3016 combines high accuracy amplification, 16-bit precision analog-to-digital conversion, and an 18-bit DSP for linearization and calibration functions.
ZMD AG has announced that Frantz Saintellemy will assume responsibility for Worldwide Sales & marketing as of 01 January. Mr. Saintellemy takes the helm from 67-year-old Carlo Rebughini, who will retire at the end of this year. To ensure a smooth transition Mr. Rebughini continues to oversee strategic business development projects until his retirement.
ZMD AG has slightly raised its revenue projection for the current fiscal year. Based on its nine-month figures from today's vantage point, ZMDI expects 2011 revenues to total about EUR 62 million, equivalent to a gain of about 12 percent over 2010. Thus ZMDI should outperform the growth rate for the market at large, which is in the upper single digits. Given the strong performance of its business in green technologies, the company had already increased its projection for revenue growth to 10 percent in May. In terms of profits, the Executive Board has reconfirmed its previous projection, and still expects an EBIT of about EUR 4.5 million for 2011. ZMDI's revenues for 2010 came to EUR 55.1 million, and EBIT was EUR 1.1 million.
ZMD AG has expanded its family of capacitive sensor signal conditioning devices with the wide-dynamic-range ZSSC3123 integrated circuit. The chip delivers 14-bit resolution and 0.25 % accuracy over a wide range of sensor capacitances and temperatures. Target applications include low power battery driven sensor applications, sensors for humidity, weight scales, load and compression sensing, as well as tension control.
ZMD AG and Murata Power Solutions have announced a cooperation on smart digital point-of-load solutions for power management. Murata Power Solution's single-phase surface-mount power blocks, combined with ZMDI's ZSMP1000 single-phase digital PWM controller for non-isolated DC/DC supplies, enable fast and flexible design of smart digital POL systems. The resulting systems have the high power density required for space-sensitive applications such as servers, storage units and FPGA boards.

Strong demand for energy-efficient products and solutions led to significant growth in revenues and earnings for the Dresden-based semiconductor company Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden (ZMDI) in fiscal-year 2010. As the Company reported today, revenues rose year-over-year by 28 percent while earnings (EBIT) improved by approximately EUR 5 million. Based on the excellent business performance in 2010, each of the approximately 280 employees received a bonus totaling EUR 2,088.

A built-in sleep mode lowers current consumption to <1uA for temperatures up to 85°C, making the ZSSC3122 ideal in low-power battery applications, as well as industrial and rugged environments.
