ZMDI Pushes Business with Standard Products

ZMD AG has slightly raised its revenue projection for the current fiscal year. Based on its nine-month figures from today's vantage point, ZMDI expects 2011 revenues to total about EUR 62 million, equivalent to a gain of about 12 percent over 2010. Thus ZMDI should outperform the growth rate for the market at large, which is in the upper single digits. Given the strong performance of its business in green technologies, the company had already increased its projection for revenue growth to 10 percent in May. In terms of profits, the Executive Board has reconfirmed its previous projection, and still expects an EBIT of about EUR 4.5 million for 2011. ZMDI's revenues for 2010 came to EUR 55.1 million, and EBIT was EUR 1.1 million.

Strong demand for energy-efficient products and solutions led to significant growth in revenues and earnings for the Dresden-based semiconductor company Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden (ZMDI) in fiscal-year 2010. As the Company reported today, revenues rose year-over-year by 28 percent while earnings (EBIT) improved by approximately EUR 5 million. Based on the excellent business performance in 2010, each of the approximately 280 employees received a bonus totaling EUR 2,088.

ZMD AG has expanded its family of capacitive sensor signal conditioners (SSCs) with the addition of the wide-dynamic-range ZSSC3122 cLite device. Thanks to new design technology, the chip delivers 14-bit resolution and 0.25% full-scale-output accuracy. A built-in sleep mode lowers current consumption to <1uA for temperatures up to 85°C, making the ZSSC3122 ideal in low-power battery applications, as well as industrial and rugged environments. MEMS sensing elements, such as pressure sensors for hydraulic control systems, humidity sensors and liquid level gauges also benefit from these features.

ZMDI today announced a new member of its cost-effective line driver and level shifter IC family with a high-voltage I/O channel that meets the physical layer requirements of sensor and actuator systems used in factory automation applications. An integrated DC/DC converter allows power supply of external sensor and actuators with up to 15V, saves board space and design costs. The ZIOL2201 is function- and pin-compatible with the ZIOL2401 and ZIOL2211, ZMDI's first members of the IO-Link family. The ZIOL2201 is available with smart power functionality for device applications.

Following on the successful fiscal year 2010 the Dresden-based semiconductor company, Zentrum Mikroelektronik Dresden (ZMDI), expects to see a continuation of its growth path despite the expectations that the dynamic increase, which the industry sector had witnessed the previous year, is set to cool down. Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year the company reckons 2011 will provide a generally positive climate and forecasts revenue growth between 5 to 10 percent in its first forecast for the full year. Earnings (EBIT) are expected to increase above average.

ZMDI records strong growth in first half year 2010

ZMDI, The Dresden-based semiconductor company, registered healthy growth for the first six months of 2010 and upgraded its revenue forecast for the current fiscal year. According to figures published by the company today, revenues for the first half of the current fiscal year totaled approximately EUR 29.1 million, equaling an increase of around 65 percent compared with the same period of the previous year. Besides the general economic recovery, above all this robust growth is driven by the strong demand for energy-efficient products and applications especially from the automobile sector.
