BriarTek recently released the new Cerberus global communication system. This system enables outdoor enthusiasts to maintain contact with family and friends back home — even when travelling through the most rugged and isolated areas of the world. The Cerberus system records a traveller location as frequently as every five minutes and sends real-time notifications via satellite to the monitoring station.
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. will be featuring a live demonstration of its polytetrafluoroethylene membrane filter technology at SEMICON West 2012, July 10-12, Moscone Center, San Francisco. Visitors to Booth 1331 will clearly see how GORE Filters for liquid filtration applications in microelectronics processing – including filters for ultrapure water and for high purity chemical processors – achieve higher flow in comparison to other microfiltration technologies.
W. L. Gore & Associates has developed new testing protocols that improve reliability of acoustic vents used for water and particulate protection in portable electronic devices. These new protocols more effectively match the environmental conditions to which the venting materials are exposed, which results in consistent testing results.
W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) has stepped up its efforts to help OEM customers maintain sound quality and protect sensitive electronics in cell phones, laptop/tablet PCs, two-way radios and other handheld and portable electronic devices by creating a new business unit. GORE Portable Electronic Vents will concentrate on providing solutions to protect devices from water, dust and dirt ingress while maintaining the integrity of sound transmission.
To improve reliability and performance in telecommunication equipment, W. L. Gore & Associates has advanced its portfolio of products and services that enable the industry to remain connected and protected. In addition to introducing its new business unit that focuses on mobile devices, Gore is displaying new venting products, cooling filters, and testing methods to enable manufacturers and suppliers of wireless headsets, small cell devices, base stations and other telecommunication infrastructure to improve product performance for their customers.
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., has added a rugged 18 GHz cable assembly to its GORE PHASEFLEX Microwave/RF Test Assemblies line. This rugged cable assembly is specifically engineered for high throughput production test applications in the wireless infrastructure market. The increased durability of this assembly reduces total costs for testing because it lasts longer, decreasing the frequency of cable assembly replacements. Its stable performance ensures precise measurements and repeatability, which reduces the risk of testing errors and the need for time-consuming troubleshooting and system calibration. In addition, the ergonomic design of this cable assembly eliminates the need to use a torque wrench to connect and disconnect accurately, which increases throughput on the manufacturing line.
With its non-hierarchical, team-based culture, global manufacturing company W. L. Gore & Associates has once again earned a spot on FORTUNE magazine's annual list of the 100 Best Companies to Work for in America. The company is ranked No. 31. This marks Gore's 14th consecutive appearance on the list, making it one of a select few workplaces to appear in every edition of the rankings.
W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) continues to enhance its engineered PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) technology for use in flat and round cables, making them the premier choice for demanding, extreme environments such as semiconductor manufacturing, aerospace, and industrial applications. Gore's customized materials and unique cable designs have resulted in products that minimize particulation and outgassing while maximizing longevity – a combination of qualities not found in any other cable technology.
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., has expanded its family of GORE SKYFLEX Aerospace Materials to include preformed gaskets for multi-face aircraft applications such as hole liners, flange joints, fastener seals, and galley or restroom hard-mounts. These lightweight, non-hazardous gaskets ensure continuous protection between flat interfaces, around chamfers, and inside a component's mounting hole. By isolating dissimilar materials completely, these new gaskets significantly reduce the likelihood of galvanic corrosion, thereby increasing the life of the component.
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., has introduced a new, lighter-weight RG coaxial cable for aircraft communication and navigation systems, providing significant weight savings without compromising performance. When compared to standard RG coaxial cables, these new cables reduce operating costs because they are as much as 20 percent lighter with a 15 percent smaller diameter. This smaller and lighter profile coaxial cable still meets the stringent electrical and mechanical requirements of MIL-T-81790 and EN 3475-503. The cables engineered for electrical impedance of 50Ω and 75Ω also exceed the electrical requirements of MIL-C-17G.
W. L. Gore & Associates has introduced the next generation in cable technology for high data-rate applications. This technology consists of a new differential cable design with lower SCD21 (differential-to-common-mode conversion) and a very high level of signal fidelity. Additionally, it provides the only cable solution that addresses the degradation in performance caused by SCD21. Engineered for InfiniBand® and other high data-rate applications, this new design has yielded SCD21 values that are typically below -40 dB and consistently well below -25 dB across a 20 GHz bandwidth.
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc., has entered into a strategic partnership with A. E. Petsche Company to provide GORE® FireWire® Cable Products for the Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) F-35 Lightning program, the Department of Defense's next-generation strike aircraft system for the Navy, Air Force, and Marines. A. E. Petsche will manage the requirements of all program partners to ensure optimum stocking levels and timely distribution.
W. L. Gore & Associates is offering a new family of highly efficient cartridge filters that improve water quality and reduce total cost of filtration for ultrapure water (UPW) and de-ionized (DI) water used in the manufacture of semiconductors and silicon wafers.
W. L. Gore & Associates, Inc. (Gore) has announced results of a study in which they compared the measurement uncertainty between vector network analyzers (VNA) and time domain reflectometers (TDR). While both instruments are able to analyze time or frequency domain data to accelerate product development cycles, Gore designed an experiment in which to determine if both instruments possess similar levels of measurement precision.
W. L. Gore & Associates (Gore) has added hydrophilic PTFE filters to its expanding line of cartridge filters for bulk high-purity chemicals used in microelectronics manufacturing, including LCD, semiconductor, hard disk drive and photovoltaic. GORE® Filters for High-Purity Chemical Processors can be used as drop-in replacements for existing filters to achieve significant flow improvements while maintaining or increasing particle retention. This dramatically increased performance can provide a retention upgrade while maintaining system flow, reducing processing time, or decreasing the number of filters required for a lower total cost of ownership.
