The Vishay SiZ700DT is the industrys first dual TrenchFET asymmetric power MOSFET in the new PowerPAIR package, which measures 6 mm by 3.7 mm. Integrating both the high-side and low-side MOSFETs for buck converters, the PowerPAIR device allows dc-to-dc circuits to handle higher levels of current while replacing the traditional pair of SO-8 or PowerPAK 1212-8 packages, thus saving on PCB real estate.

New Vishay Siliconix 35-A DrMOS Solution Features Input Voltage Range to 27 V; Enables Operating Frequencies in Excess of 1 MHz and High Efficiency to 92 %

Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. today announced an integrated DrMOS solution providing PWM-optimized high-side and low-side n-channel MOSFETs, a full-featured MOSFET driver IC, and a bootstrap diode, all in a single low-profile PowerPAK MLP 6x6 40-pin package. The new SiC762CD is fully compliant with the DrMOS specification for voltage regulators (VRs) in servers and desktop computers, graphics boards, workstations, game consoles, and other high-power CPU-based systems. The device enables operating frequencies in excess of 1 MHz and high efficiency to 92 %.

Vishay announced a new series of metrology and laboratory ultra-high-precision Bulk Metal Z-Foil resistors built using Z1-Foil technology that features new orders of accuracy, stability, and fast thermal stabilization in sizes small enough for permanent assembly in operational equipment. The Z203 devices feature a TCR of ± 0.5 ppm/°C maximum (+ 25 °C to + 125 °C), tolerances to 0.005 % (50 ppm), load-life stability of 0.005 % (50 ppm) at + 70 °C for 10 000 hours, and PCR (ΔR due to self heating) of ± 5 ppm at a rated power 0.6 W at + 70 °C and 0.3 W at + 125 °C.

Vishay Intertechnology has announced that it has provided a web tension measurement system to Western Michigan University (WMU) for use in its Coating Pilot Plant. WMU's Coating Pilot Plant, located in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is a leading research center for papermaking, coating, printing, and recycling. Vishay is the major producer of strain gages and strain gage-based load cells, as well as systems based on strain gage technology. Vishay Systems Web Tension measurement system was upgraded in the spring of 2009, and performance trials have showed dramatic improvement in tension measurement stability with varying temperatures. The upgraded system precisely measures the sheet web tension between the coater backing rolls and the chill-roll S-wrap.

Vishay has announced that it has doubled the rotational life of its P30L compact panel potentiometers, which are now specified to deliver 2 million cycles at rated power. The potentiometers' power rating has also been increased, from 2 W to 3 W. The long-life performance of the P30L reduces the need for replacement parts, increasing reliability and lowering maintenance costs. Its rotational life of 2 million cycles represents at least a 20-fold improvement over standard potentiometers, which typically reach 50,000 to 100,000 cycles.
