Strategic Test has announced a new low-cost addition to its line of Freescale-based i.MX Computer-on-Modules. Called the TX-28S, it measures just 68 x 25 mm (2.6 x 1) and contains a 454 MHz i.MX283 processor coupled with 64 MB DDR SDRAM, 128 MB NAND flash memory and a 200-pin SODIMM connector.

Called the TX51, it measures just 67.6 x 26 x 4.2 mm (2.6" x 1" x 0.16") and contains an ARM8 Cortex 800 MHz i.MX51 processor coupled with 128 MB mobile DDR-SDRAM, 128 MB NAND Flash memory and a 200-pin SODIMM connector.
Strategic Test Corp. has announced two new 500 MS/s 12-bit digitizer cards for the PCI bus. The UF3-3242 has 2 analog inputs and can sample at 500 MS/s on one channel or 250 MS/s on both channels simultaneously, while the UF3-3240 is a single-channel card that samples at up to 500 MS/s. Both cards are supplied with 128 MSamples (256 MByte) onboard memory which is unique at this speed/resolution segment. The memory can be expanded to 2 GSamples giving a measurement time of up to 5 seconds on one channel at 500 MS/s. PCI Express versions of the cards will be released later this year.
Strategic Test has announced a Freescale i.MX25 processor-based System on Module (SOM) and Development Kit. Called the TX-STAR, it measures just 67.6 x 26 x 3.5 mm (2.6" x 1" x 0.09") and contains a 400 MHz i.MX25 processor coupled with 64 MB SDRAM, 128 MB NAND flash memory and a 200-pin SODIMM connector. The TX-STAR is targeted at embedded applications where an operating temperature range from -45 to +85 degrees C, low price, small size and low power consumption are critical factors.

Strategic Test has introduced the UF2e-7005 Digital Bit Stream card. This PCI Express card has 16 channels that can all be set to either input or output with a maximum clock rate of 125 MHz. What makes this card unique is that it is possible to use only 1, 2, 4, 8 or 16 channels and use all of the available card memory. Also, when using fewer channels, it is possible to stream the data to or from a PC at higher rates than usual, allowing much longer signals to be recorded or generated.

With synchronous multi-channel capability, the AWG card is well suited for creating complex waveforms in applications that include I&Q signal generation, RADAR system development, communications testing, laser positioning, and HDTV signal generation.
Strategic Test Corp has announced two new 8-bit digitizer / oscilloscope PCI Express cards. The UF2e-2020 has two 50 MS/s channels, while the UF2e-2021 has four 50 MS/s. Each channel has its own 8-bit ADC for simultaneous sampling, seven programmable input voltage ranges from ±50 mV to ± 5 V, offset adjustment to 400% and both 50 Ohm and 1 MOhm input impedances. Strategic Test Corp has announced the UF2e-2031 oscilloscope PCI Express card. The UF2e-2031 has four 100 MS/s 8-bit ADC's that are also able to operate in an interpolated mode to acquire two channels at 200 MS/s for increased versatility. Strategic Test has announced the availability of the UF2e-3132 oscilloscope / digitizer PCI Express card. The UF2e-3132 has eight 25 MegaSamples/s 12-bit ADC's for simultaneous sampling without time-skew errors and up to 2 GigaSamples onboard memory. Streaming to a host PC is supported to the maximum transfer rate of the PCI Express x1 bus.

Strategic Test has announced the BaseXIO option for the company's series of UltraFast Oscilloscope and Arbitrary Wafeform Generator (AWG) cards. The new low-cost option adds eight asynchronous TTL channels to the PCI card. While an additional PC connector panel is provided, OEM's that integrate the UltraFast card within a larger system can route the digital cables internally for maximum convenience.
Strategic Test has released four new Digital Pattern Generator boards for PC's with up to 32 Gigabit memory, maximum clock rates of 40 MHz, 10 MHz or 5 MHz, and a choice of 16- or 32-bit widths. Uniquely, each 4-bit can be programmed with a different HIGH and LOW output level from –2 V to +10 V in 10 mV increments. This output range can generate signals compatible with ECL, PECL, TTL, LVDS, LVTTL, CMOS and LVCMOS. Compared to traditional instruments, the UF2-7200 series is less expensive, easier to use and eliminates the need for multiple instruments to produce different signal levels.
Strategic Test Corp. has announced new and updated Linux drivers for its range of UltraFast Waveform Digitizer, Arbitrary Waveform Generator and fast Digital I/O boards. The new drivers include 64-bit versions for the RedHat, SuSe and Fedora distributions, together with updates for their 32-bit drivers that support kernels 2.4 and 2.6.
Strategic Test has introduced a new dual time base option for its line of UltraFast Oscilloscope/Digitizer PCI cards. Called the ABA Mode, this allows the cards to be configured for slow continuous recording, similar to a data logger, switch to high-speed sampling on detection of the trigger event, and then return to slow recording until the next trigger event.

Strategic Test Corporation has announced Windows Vista 64-bit and 32-bit drivers for their range of Digitizer, AWG, fast Digital I/O and Digital Pattern Generator cards. The drivers are compatible with all of the 150 PCI, PXI and CompactPCI cards in the UltraFast series. The Windows Vista drivers are supplied at no cost and can be downloaded by existing customers from the company website. The same simple programming concept found in the other Windows and Linux drivers has been employed, allowing customers to upgrade their OS without modifying their application code.

Strategic Test has announced availability of the TRITON Development Kit-4 (TDK-4) based on the Marvell XScale PXA320 processor. The TDK-4 is supplied with both Microsoft Windows CE 6.0 and Linux 2.6.17 at a competitive price of only 2900 Euros.

Called the TRITON-290, it measures just 67.6 x 26 x 4.2 mm (2.6 x 1 x 0.16in) and contains an 806 MHz PXA290 processor coupled with 64 MB SDRAM and 128 MB Flash. The module uses a 200 pin SODIMM connector and as standard has an extended temperature range of –25 degC to +85 degC. First shipments should start in November, together with a complete Development Kit running Linux 2.6.17 and Microsoft Windows CE 5.0.

Strategic Test Corp has released two new Digitizer cards using multiple 8-bit ADC's with maximum sampling rates of 100 MS/s or 200 MS/s in interleave mode. Based on the new UF2 series carrier card, it uses a PCI-X (66 MHz/32-bit PCI) bus that can continuously transfer data to the host PC at up to 225 MSamples per second. The advantage being that the user can record longer signals at high-speed to cheap PC RAM instead of buying additonal digitizer card memory. It is also possible to continuously record for hours to hard disks setup in a RAID configuration at up to 105 MSamples per second (i.e. one hour recording at 200 MSamples/s would occupy 37.8 Gbyte disk space).
Strategic Test Corp has announced the release of new Linux drivers for kernel 2.6 versions of RedHat, SuSe and Fedora distributions. The kernel 2.4 drivers have also been updated. Linux kernel 2.6 gives increased stability and near to real-time operating system performance, useful for measurement and signal generation applications.
Strategic Test Corp has announced that free software updates and technical support will be provided on all future purchases of its UltraFast range of Digitizer, AWG, fast Digital I/O and Digital Pattern Generator cards. The decision also applies retrospectively to all UltraFast products supplied during the previous five years.
