Hard disk drives and solid state drives are known first and foremost as storage media for PCs and other computer systems, for portable media players and navigation systems. But they are also finding increased use in industrial applications, because these technologies allow for unheard-of flexibility and new opportunities for service and production management. Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente is exhibiting at embedded world (stand 1-318) under the motto 'Meet tomorrow now!'. The focus is on the technological and logistical developments of tomorrow. Visitors to the trade fair can call up applications on touch-screens and view suitable components with their technical data.
Under the motto Meet tomorrow now!, Rutronik will be demonstrating its prowess as a global supplier of innovative electronic components and complete solutions at the electronica fair (hall A5, stands159 & 260). The broadliner will be focusing on technological and logistical developments of tomorrow, showing product trends and new releases for a wide variety of market segments based on example applications.
Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH invited its most important suppliers to the Top 50 Supplier Conference. 215 participants from around the world were given an overview of the company, its supplier strategy as well as the medium and long-term business development. The focus was on the global positioning of Rutronik, concentrating on Asia and the alignment to vertical markets.
Rutronik has upgraded its portfolio with the new R0.25S series from RECOM in open frame SMD design with improved efficiency and extended ambient temperature. The compact 0.25W single output converters can be used in many industrial low power applications and are also approved for medical applications.
Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH will now be distributing the entire Redpine Signals product range throughout Europe. With 802.11n chipsets, modules and systems, Redpine offers integrated wireless solutions. The ultra low-power and high-performance products are ideal for applications in the medical, industrial, automotive, smart energy, building automation and high-end consumer markets. The US company also offers firmware, drivers, reference designs and development kits.
OSRAM Opto Semiconductors has added three colors to its TopLED Black Series 60° beam angle portfolio. The small powerful LEDs in black packages are now available not only in red and yellow but also in blue, green and orange. All five colors are available also with a 30° beam angle at distributor Rutronik now.
Omron Electronic Components has presented Rutronikwith a special European distributor award for the 2010/2011 year. The award has been given to Rutronik for unprecedented business growth during the last 12 months. 2010 was the first full year that Rutronik have held the Omron franchise in all European regions. The innovative Brad® Micro-Change M12 Circular Hybrid Technology connector from Molex combines Cat 5e data speed and power supply for high signal integrity and excellent performance. The Fastrax UC430 is a combination of a complete high-performance GPS receiver and an integrated chip antenna packed in a miniature form factor. At a size of only 9.6mm x 14.0mm x 1.95mm, the UC430 module also includes an antenna which is classifies it, according to Fastrax, as the world's smallest GPS antenna module. The product is designed for handheld computers, digital cameras, mobile phones, asset tracking devices, and other applications with space and power restrictions. Samples of the Fastrax UC430 are available at Rutronik now. The volume production of the module will start in the fourth quarter 2011.

Schurter is expanding its family of EMI-Line Filters with the new compact and high-end FMBB NEO filter series for one-phase systems. AVX FFLI power film capacitor series specifically targets DC filtering. One major advantage of the technology is that unlike aluminium electrolytic devices where there is a strong risk of the case exploding at the end of the capacitor's life, the FFLI devices will simply experience a reduction in capacitance of about 5%. Omron's new G7L and G8P(BG) relays are specifically designed to meet the needs and requirements of renewable energy systems such as electric solar inverter applications. The Omron GL7 relay with two NO contacts features a sealed, PCB mounting package with mechanical dimensions of 52.5mm x 35.5mm x 41.0mm and provides a durable switching relay solution with two 30A load contacts, a contact gap of over 3mm for each and a low coil hold on voltage of 4.5V.
Infineon offers three wireless control receivers offering highest available sensitivity and low power consumption. The TDA5240, TDA5235 and TDA5225 devices provide multi-band support (315MHz, 434MHz, 868MHz and 915MHz) for worldwide coverage and are well-suited for use in various automotive applications, including Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) systems, Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS), remote start, control, status and alarm functions. With effect from 1 July, Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente GmbH appointed Markus Zuehlke as Marketing Director Passive Components. Since 2007, Mr Zuehlke was Senior Marketing Manager Resistors at Rutronik. Markus Zuehlke's previous position is succeeded by Michael Heinrich, who has been working in product marketing resistors at Rutronik. Also with effect from 1 July, Volker Buchmann takes over as Marketing Director Electromechanical Components from Jörg Ciper. Mr Ciper is leaving the company. Both Marketing Directors report directly to Markus Krieg, Rutronik's Managing Director Marketing. Gökhan Ersoy, who worked in product marketing microcontrollers, takes over from Volker Buchmann as Senior Marketing Manager Inductors.
