New Flexible Resolution Oscilloscopes From Pico Technology

New Flexible Resolution Oscilloscopes From Pico Technology

For the first time in an oscilloscope, Pico Technology has used reconfigurable ADC technology to offer a choice of resolutions from 8 to 16 bits in a single product. Most digital oscilloscopes gain their high sampling rates by interleaving multiple 8-bit ADCs. Despite careful design, the interleaving process introduces errors that always make the dynamic performance worse than the performance of the individual ADC cores.

Pico Technology offers new Tetris 1 GHz and 1.5 GHz active probes

The two new Tetris probes from Pico Technology offer high bandwidth in a compact and lightweight housing, and are ideal for testing densely-packed high-speed circuits. With their active circuitry, these probes deliver a significant performance improvement over passive probes. While the input capacitance of a passive probe loads the signal source even at frequencies below 1 MHz, causing distortion, the Tetris probes maintain a high input impedance into the GHz range. This enables the accurate display of pulses with sub-nanosecond rise times. The Tetris probes are compatible with all standard high-bandwidth oscilloscopes with 50-ohm BNC inputs, such as the PicoScope 6000 Series.

PicoScope 9201A PC Sampling Oscilloscope from Pico Technology

PicoScope 9201A PC Sampling Oscilloscope from Pico Technology

The new PicoScope 9201A PC Sampling Oscilloscope is an essential tool for analysing electrical communications standards and characterising connectors, cables, IC packages and printed circuit boards. Unlike a real-time oscilloscope, the PicoScope 9201A builds up a picture of a repetitive signal by combining samples from a large number of cycles of the waveform. This enables it to achieve very high effective sampling rates (up to 5 TS/s) and fast time bases (10 ps/div to 50 ms/div) at a much lower cost than a real-time scope of comparable bandwidth.

Application Programming Interface for PC Oscilloscope

Application Programming Interface for PC Oscilloscope

Pico Technology, worldwide leaders in the design and manufacture of PC Oscilloscopes, has launched an Application Programming Interface for the PicoScope 5000 series scopes to allow you to write your own software for the devices. The PicoScope 5000 series PC Oscilloscopes are Pico's top-performing scopes, with the world's fastest real-time sampling rate, for a USB PC scope, of 1 GS/s. This, together with a probe-tip bandwidth of 250 MHz, makes them ideal for use with high-speed analogue and digital signals. The scope's huge memory buffer — either 32 M or 128 M samples depending on the version — ensures that the high sampling rate can be used on a wide range of timebases without losing detail.
