Ophir Photonics announced the Shock Absorber at Photonics West 2011. The Shock Absorber is the industry's first mounting post designed to allow the operation of sensitive pyroelectric laser power/energy sensors in an environment with vibration. Ophir-Spiricon, the global leader in precision laser measurement, today announced the UV ND Filter system, a family of modular, slide-in neutral density attenuators and a C-mount holder designed to attenuate UV laser beams so they are at the proper intensity for CCD or Pyroelectric cameras. The filters work on lasers in the 190 to 380nm range and cover, for example, Excimer, Helium Cadmium, and Nd:YAG UV harmonic wavelengths.

Ophir-Spiricon today announced two new Laser Beam Dump products for high power applications, the BD5000W-BB-50 and the BDFL500A-BB-50. These devices are designed to safety absorb the unused part of a high power laser beam and dissipate the resulting heat, protecting nearby personnel and equipment. The BDFL500A-BB-50 is a fan-cooled Beam Dump for up to 500W. The BD5000W-BB-50 is a water-cooled Beam Dump for even higher power applications, up to 5kW.

Ophir-Spiricon, the global leader in precision laser measurement equipment, today announced the 10KW Power/Energy Sensor, the first detector to directly measure very high powers and power densities. Designed for material processing applications, such as welding and metal cutting, the 10KW measures YAG and fiber lasers in the 1040-1100 nm range, and CO2 lasers at 10.6 microns. A wide aperture of 45 mm allows for measurement of broad beams. The maximum power for concentrated beams is up to 10KW/cm2. The maximum energy density for a 10 ms pulse is up to 150 J/cm2.

Beam Cube measures beam profile, temporal pulse shape, focal spot position, and power up to 150W. Ophir-Spiricon has announced a built-in photodiode trigger for beam profiling cameras at LASER World of Photonics. The trigger is part of the company's USB 2.0 Silicon CCD Cameras designed specifically for laser beam measurement applications, the SP503U and SP620U. These cameras accurately capture and analyze wavelengths from 190nm - 1550nm, both continuous wave (CW) and pulsed mode.
