NXP Semiconductors today introduced the industry's first double transistors with low saturation voltage in a 2-mm x 2-mm DFN (discrete flat no-leads) package. Sound Quality Breakthrough With 9.5V Boost Voltage In Mobile Micro Speakers
In a push for better sound quality and more output volume, leading mobile phone makers have been raising the internal voltage used to drive micro speakers – from 3.3V through to 5V, and recently as high as 8V. NXP is launching its new TFA9890 speaker driver IC, which enables an unprecedented 9.5V boost voltage from an integrated DC-DC converter. Increasing the voltage headroom in the audio driver IC prevents amplifier clipping and keeps sound quality high at maximum volume.

NXP Expands Transistor Portfolio in Ultra-Small Discrete Flat No-Leads Package
NXP have revealed the expansion of its transistor portfolio in the ultra-small discrete flat no-leads package DFN1006B-3 (SOT883B). NXP now offers 60 bipolar transistors and 12 small-signal single N- and P-channel Trench MOSFETs in the 1-mm x 0.6-mm x 0.37-mm DFN plastic SMD package - the industry's largest portfolio in the smallest transistor package (DFN1006) available today.
The expanded portfolio includes a wide range of general purpose and switching transistors, such as the industry standard types BC847 and BC857, as well as PMBT3904 and PMBT3906. It also features a broad choice of 42 resistor equipped transistors, which cover all standard resistor combinations.
