NEC Electronics annonce quatre nouveaux IPD (Intelligent Power Devices) pour systèmes d'éclairage automobile

La société NEC Electronics est fière d'annoncer la commercialisation de quatre nouveaux IPD (Intelligent Power Devices) : les μPD166017, μPD166019, μPD166020 et μPD166021. Ces IPD « high side » sont particulièrement adaptés aux systèmes d'éclairage automobile et autres charges typiques d'un véhicule. Conçus pour les unités de contrôle électronique (ECU) embarquées et plus spécifiquement pour les commandes de feux (antibrouillards ou pleins phares), ces nouveaux composants intègrent une puce de puissance (un transistor MOS) assurant la fonction interrupteur, ainsi qu'une puce de contrôle assurant les fonctions de protection, tout cela dans un même boitier.

Afin de faire bénéficier de sa technologie DRAM embarquée (eDRAM) aux concepteurs de téléphones mobiles, lecteurs MP3 et autres appareils portables, NEC Electronics introduit deux nouveaux composants monopuce (SoC), μPD60800 et μPD60801. Ces deux nouvelles solutions SoC intègrent 16 mégabits (μPD60800) et 30 mégabits (μPD60801) de mémoire eDRAM avec logique de traitement graphique et connexion grande vitesse, via une interface conforme MIPI®-DSI (Mobile Industry Processor Interface – Display Serial Interface), au processeur hôte. NEC Electronics today introduced its three new 16-bit All Flash microcontrollers (MCUs) with embedded IEEE802.15.4-compliant 2.4 gigahertz (GHz) radio frequency (RF) transceiver for ZigBee® RF4CE, an industry standard for remote control in consumer electronics. The new MCUs are ideal for RF remote control and provide the lowest level of power consumption in the industry. The three new MCUs come with 56 pins and 8x8mm quad flat no-leads (QFN) packages, and part numbers differ according to their flash memory capacity: the µPD78F8056 offers 64 kilobytes (KB) of flash memory, the µPD78F8057 has 96 KB, and the µPD78F8058 has 128 KB.

NEC Electronics - SoCs for Set-Top Boxes Target the IP and Pay-TV Market

NEC Electronics has announced the availability of a new image-processing solution, the EMMA3SL/P system-on-chip (SoC) based on NEC Electronics' enhanced multimedia architecture (EMMA) platform. EMMA3SL/P SoC is a set-top box (STB) device compliant with H.264 high definition (HD), the next-generation image-compression standard, as well as the multi-format video support used for the increasing number of worldwide internet-protocol television (IP TV) STBs, such as DivX, VC-1, and WMV. The new SoC is also the first among the company's EMMA products to support China's audio/video standard (AVS).

The system LSI chip and OS were developed in collaboration with Toyota Motor Corp., Aishin AW Co., Ltd., and Denso Corp., and capitalizes on synergies between NEC's software expertise and NEC Electronics' device technologies. NEC Electronics Corporation today announced plans for the production of semiconductor devices utilizing 40-nanometer process technology at NEC Yamagata, its manufacturing subsidiary in Tsuruoka, Japan. NEC Electronics Corporation has announced two 32-bit ARM processor cores that can be used with NEC Electronics' system-on-chip (SoC) design methodology to develop high-speed solutions for networking, wireless, digital consumer, imaging, storage, automotive and industrial applications. NEC Electronics' 90-nanometer, 700 MHz (931 MHz under nominal process conditions) dual-core implementation of the ARM11 MPCore multicore processor is the highest-performing ARM processor core on the market, while the NEC Electronics-implemented ARM926EJ-S processor core is the industry's fastest at 130 nm, clocking in at 400 MHz (532 MHz under nominal process conditions).

NEC LCD Technologies to Enhance Line-up of LCD Modules With White LED Backlight System Through Launch of Two New TFT LCD Modules

NEC LCD Technologies today introduced two new 6.5-inch (17cm-diagonal) amorphous-silicon thin-film-transistor (TFT) liquid crystal display (LCD) modules with high luminance and video graphics array (VGA) resolution. The modules, part number NL6448BC20-21C and NL6448BC20-21D, eliminate the need for an inverter circuit by employing white light emitting diodes (LEDs) for the backlight system, instead of the cold-cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) that are traditionally used. The white LED backlight system achieves low power consumption in a slim package that, while lightweight, is highly resistant to shock and vibration, making it ideal for use in portable display systems in industrial applications.

NEC Electronics Europe has announced the availability of two new PowerMOSFET families. The µPA273xUT1A family is designed for use in the protection circuitry of lithium-ion (Li-Ion) batteries for notebook PCs, and is designed to help prevent heat generation and explosions that may result from Li-Ion battery overcurrent. The second, the µPA272xUT1A family, helps to power CPUs and chipsets in notebooks, desktop PCs and servers, and is designed for use in DC/DC converters, or point-of-load (POL) converters, which must provide clean and reliable power service to chipsets. All of the new PowerMOSFET are housed in NEC Electronics' proprietary 8-pin HVSON-8 package that fits into the industry-standard SOP-8 footprint and provides efficient heat dissipation while allowing the devices to deliver significantly more power than standard SOP-8-based solutions.
