Mill-Max has added a second version to our 829 series single-row, right-angle, spring-loaded connectors. The new connector, 829-22-0XX-20-002101, has an increased mid-stroke distance of .045" (.090" full stroke) – close to double most standard series products and providing more flexibility and tolerance for your assembly.
Mill-Max has added a heavier gauge option to our line of SMT interconnect headers with the introduction of two new connectors. Our latest Series 349 and 449 SMT male pin header strips feature sturdy .030" (0,76mm) diameter pin tails which plug easily into a variety of standard Mill-Max mating socket strips. The mating sockets are available in through-hole, right-angle and SMT configurations.
Mill-Max introduces our lowest profile spring-loaded connectors, just .100" in height. The trend toward miniaturization in electronic packaging demands ever smaller interconnects that deliver high quality performance. For board-to-board or device-to-board connections, these low profile spring-loaded connectors are a practical solution.
Mill-Max has expanded its USB family to include four new USB 3.0 connectors. USB 3.0, SuperSpeed USB, provides a 10 X faster data transfer rate over Hi-Speed USB with a 5 Gbps signaling rate. SuperSpeed USB is a Sync-N-Go technology that minimizes user wait time and provides optimized power efficiency. Mill-Max is offering both standard size and micro USB 3.0 connectors. USB 3.0 is fully backwards compatible with USB 2.0.
Mill-Max has today launched a micro-miniature option to their organic fibre plug receptacle lineup. The newest Mill-Max socket receptacle, 4428-0-43-15-04-14-10-0, is our tiniest OFP receptacle ever. Optimized for high-density packaging down to 1 mm pitch, this micro-miniature, ultra-low profile receptacle accepts .008"-.013" device leads or mating pins and can be soldered into a hole as small as .030."
Mill-Max is pleased to announce new additions to our line of fine pitch connectors with the introduction of 1 mm pitch headers and sockets. These through-hole, single row sockets and headers are ideal for real estate saving interconnect solutions.
Mill-Max is expanding its line of wire termination interconnects with new socket and header strips rated at 4.5 amps per contact. These connectors feature pins and receptacles with soldercups that can accept up to 20 AWG stranded & 18 AWG solid wires. They are a convenient and reliable method to make connections between discrete wires or cables and mating components such as PC boards or other cable assemblies.
Mill-Max introduces shrouded male pin connectors for applications where a robust, secure connection is demanded, such as frequently mated interconnects and blind mate conditions. These double row connectors come in 4 to 64 pin configurations and are available in through- hole and surface mount termination styles.
Mill-Max is pleased to introduce a new SMT pin for use as a test point or for low profile board-to-board connections. These pins are available packaged on tape & reel for pick-and-place assembly or in bulk for low volume requirements and prototyping. The part numbers are: 1508-0-57-15-00-00-03-0 for tape and reel packaging and 1508-0-00-15-00-00-03-0 for bulk.
Mill-Max has developed a series of ultra-low and low profile spring pins for applications where above board height is limited. As packaging requirements for electronics continue to shrink in size, traditional interconnects don't always fit the bill. For board-to-board or device-to-board connections, low profile spring pins are a practical solution.
Mill-Max's organic fibre plug (OFP) solder barrier receptacles are discrete sockets for through-hole soldering into printed circuit boards. These open bottom receptacles are fitted with organic fibre plugs to prevent solder, paste or flux from contaminating the internal contact during the placing and soldering process.
Mill-Max is pleased to announce the addition of three new large scale, high current spring pins to our expanding family of ruggedized spring-loaded products. In contrast to our miniature spring pins, which are typically used on .100" (2.54 mm) centers, these new offerings are for applications where greater spacing is required due to electrical and mechanical specifications.
Mill-Max introduces 64 position, 1 mm pitch mezzanine connectors for parallel board stacking interconnections. The connectors meet EIA-700 AAAB specifications for IEEE 1386 applications. IEEE 1386 is the industry standard for adding general functionality to motherboards and these mezzanine connectors are the perfect solution for connecting the common mezzanine card (CMC.) Some of the environments where this standard can be found are on VME, VME64 & VME64X boards, CompactPCI boards, Multibus I & II boards, desktop & portable computers and servers. They can also be used as modular connectors for front panel and backplane I/O cards.
Mill-Max has added right angle options to our line of .070" (1,78 mm) pitch connectors. These single row right angle sockets and headers can be combined with vertical .070" (1,78 mm) pitch connectors for a variety of interconnect configurations. Additionally, the .070" (1,78 mm) pitch spacing allows for higher density packaging than .100" (2,54 mm) pitch, while providing the same current carrying capacity and mechanical strength.
Mill-Max has developed a convenient and reliable method to make connections between wires and mating components such as PCBs, batteries or other cable assemblies with our new single and double row solder cup spring pin header strips.
The new Mill-Max 804 and 805 series interconnects are ideal for high pin count I/O and board-to- board applications. The triple row pin field allows for signal connections to be more densely packaged. Also, placing and soldering one connector rather than three SIP sockets or a single and double row combination increases assembly efficiency and improves positional accuracy. This triple row package, on .100" (2.54 mm) grid, is available from 9 to 96 position configurations (ordered in increments of 3.)
Mill-Max's 0967 is a low profile, horizontal, surface mount spring pin designed for edge board interface applications: board-to-board or device-to-board. Whereas most spring pins are designed to mount vertically on a pc board, the 0967 mounts parallel to the pc board so that the plunger travel is horizontal to the board surface. The above board height of .100" (2.54 mm) provides a low profile for tight packaging requirements. Typically mounted on the edge of the pc board, it can be mated with a board running perpendicular to it, or parallel pc boards can be daisy-chained together by using the Mill-Max 7937 horizontal SMT target pin and 0967 on opposing boards.
Mill-Max now offers a series of rugged spring pins capable of carrying 9 amps continuous current at a low 10° C temperature rise. The Mill-Max 0850, 0851, 0852 and 0853 spring pins are the perfect solution for rugged applications and for use in circuits operating at currents above signal level.
Mill-Max's 829 series single-row, right-angle strips are the perfect solution for applications calling for a spring-loaded connection that lies parallel to the pc board. Spring-loaded connectors (SLC) are commonly used to provide a high quality battery interface connection and in applications such as board-to-board interconnects and blind mate assemblies. This low profile, right angle connector is ideal for the small packaging requirements of hand-held devices, especially where vertical space is limited.
For customers looking for a spring way to connect a Mill-Max Spring-loaded Connector to a wire or cable, Mill-Max is pleased to announce two new innovative designs.
Mill-Max has developed high density, .050" pitch through-hole and surface mount spring-loaded connectors (SLC) available in single and double-row strip packaging. Each precision-machined spring pin component is plated 20µ" hard gold and assembled in a high temperature thermoplastic insulator suitable for wave and reflow soldering processes. Every Mill-Max SLC is RoHS compliant.
Series 296, 299 and 594 vertical display sockets are used to mount dot matrix and 7-segment LED displays at the edge of and perpendicular to a printed circuit board. This positions the display directly behind the translucent front panel of the equipment.
Mill-Max introduces versatile socket interconnects for .025 pin diameter and .025 square pins in both single and double rows. These receptacles are precision-machined from brass alloy and assembled with our #16 contact – six-finger contact clips designed to accept mated pin ranges from .022 to .034 diameter and .025 square posts. The Mill-Max #16 contact clip is rated at 4.5 amps per position.
TO-5 and TO-100 transistor sockets make field insertion and removal easy and convenient. Inside each transistor socket are precision machined, brass alloy receptacles assembled with a Mill-Max, 4-finger #30 contact.
Mill-Max offers two new pin/socket interconnect pairs for high-density grid applications such as the termination of medical cables. Both pin and receptacle are manufactured using precision turning technology. The receptacle shell is seamless and sturdy, and comes assembled with a hi-rel. BeCu spring contact that makes excellent electrical and mechanical contact to the mating pin. Insertion/extraction forces are low permitting their use in high-density arrays. All components are gold-plated.
To date, this is the smallest receptacle Mill-Max has ever made. The Mill-Max #8210 receptacle is a combination of a precision machined shell and a stamped 3-finger beryllium copper spring contact. The contact accepts mating pins in the range .008 to .013 diameter, and the shell has a .012 diameter tail. The shell and contact are both gold plated for a long service life.
Mill-Max offers a quick and efficient method to terminate discrete wires into a pluggable interconnect with our Solder Cup Headers and mating Socket Connectors. They provide a convenient pluggable, reliable path between your wired applications.
Mill-Max is pleased to announce threading and tapping capabilities (metric and inch sizes) for implementation on custom socket receptacles.
Mill-Max introduced the new 810 series Horizontal SMT Spring-loaded Connectors. 810 series connectors are ideal for low profile spring interconnections parallel to the board surface. Applications are recharging modules, grounding points, test points and board edge-to-edge interfaces, typically to our mating target connectors.
Mill-Max series 117, 127, 217 & 227 shrinkDIP sockets accommodate memory chips and components which have pin-to-pin spacing of .070" (1,778mm). The reduced pattern of the shrinkDIP series also saves valuable board space for board-to-board connections as more pin connections can be made using less "real estate" than standard .100" pitch patterns. They can also be mated with series 162 shrinkDIP headers for board-to-board connections.
Mill-Max has expanded its USB family to include two new mini USB receptacles. These mini USB connectors offer more options when smaller solutions are necessary.
Need to create a wired crimp interconnection but don't know where to start?
Mill-Max now offers a choice between .050" (1,270 mm) and .100" (2,540 mm) grid horizontal Z-Bend sockets and receptacles. For low profile IO applications, these surface mount SIP socket and header strips are assembled parallel to their board surface. They are ideal for placement near the board edge for easy access test connections and creating pluggable adapter modules which can sit perpendicular to the motherboard (mated to a vertical connector,) effectively conserving precious board real estate.
Mill-Max Target Connectors provide a convenient mating surface to connect with Mill-Max spring pins. They can be utilized in any spring pin application requiring conductive lands. Examples are: board stacking, elevated circuits or recharging applications.
If you need to create a surface mount interconnect between two printed circuit boards, Mill-Max SMT Strip Sockets and Pin Headers provide the perfect combination for this application. Both the socket receptacle and the header pin feature a round stub-tail termination, providing the benefit of a reduced solder footprint inside the package outline. The .008" floating pin design compensates for the peaks and valleys found in uneven solder paste application on the board surface, promoting good solder joints.
Mill-Max is pleased to announce the development of a unique, low-profile, compliant body socket receptacle capable of press-fitting in FR-4 mounting holes between .041" - .044" (1,04mm – 1,12mm) in diameter.
Mill-Max's knock-out-bottom receptacles are discrete sockets for soldering into printed circuit boards. Twelve sizes are now available; ten have carrier tape as standard packaging. Tape packaging is becoming increasingly popular since it permits through-hole components to be placed simultaneously with surface mount parts on pick-'n-place assembly lines. The knock-out-bottom feature enables these sockets to be made short enough to stand upright in a carrier tape pocket. The OFP barrier then permits the sockets to be vacuum picked from the tape prior to placement in a hole in the circuit board.
